Two places you can it from. From www.microsoft.com, go to the support section and type in your make and model of the sound card. And the manufacturers website of your card. If you do not know the make and model of your sound card check in either Device manager or click on start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system. Good luck and let me know if you need any more help

NO SOUND

Hi,
I'm sorry mate, but you're going to have to provide a bit more information, if you want me to be able to help you.
Operating System? No audio from any program? The sound card driver?
How did you delete it?
What sound card are you using? Do you see any 'Unknown Devices' in Device Manager?
Are your speakers plugged into the Onboard sound or the sound card?
Have you checked Volume Control/Mixer?

Post some details, and I'll try to advise you as best I can..

Im needing to replace the cd/dvd drive on my acer travel mate 250 Do you know what other laptop would be compatible with this laptop?

As long as it is made for laptop and is correct type IDE or sata. You will be good to go. Any further questions please ask.

Acer Travelmate screen, no image, just a slight glow

The card he was referring to is the video card. Since this is a laptop you probably are not able to replace the video card. Most of the cards are integrated into the motherboard. Since the computer was dropped it would be hard to belive that this is the problem. If there is any chance of fixing this it will have to be done by a pro unless you are able to replace the board yourself.

Bought a used Logitech X-530 5.1 speaker system. The driver installation disc was lost.the Logitech site was an exercise in futility. Please help me!

Hi mate,

You have to download the latest driver for your sound card for it to have the 5.1 support. For instance, I had to download the RealTek driver pack and install it, then double click the red Realtek icon in the bottom right hand corner of my screen, and go to advanced settings and set the preferences for each speaker and each of the 3 input ports on my computers sound card.

If you have a Realtek card then, you want the Realtek High Definition Audio Driver R2.11, you can find it here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/173933659/WDM_R211.zip

and the Vista one is here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/173930788/Vista_R211.zip

That's for my setup though, if you have a Soundblaster card, it'll be the newest Creative driver you want..
Figure out which one you have from your device manager in the system part of the control panel and then google search for the card brand followed by the word 'driver', and check the download page to make sure it supports your card's model number.

Good luck

I hace a Acer Travel Mate 4001lc, I tried to upgrade the HD from 60 GB to 250GB but the Laptop just recognized 130GB

that sounds like its a limitation of the laptop try updating the bios. if it still stays the same see if you can go into disk management and partition the other half of the drive. it would show up as unpartitioned space.
