Toshiba Satellite will not turn on

Laptop shows green light for power/charger cord, but will not turn on or show any other lights that it normally does. Also, just replaced charging cord about a month ago, because the original broke. What could be the problem?

Sounds like your CPU and HeatSink needs a fresh coat of Thermal Paste on them. You'd have to take the laptop apart to do it. It's shortening out because the paste is dry and causing metal to touch metal and shortening out.

Strange ac cord/power issues

Hello my friend, Try to check your battery if the is it working normal cause sometimes the battery itself has the problem its either lost contact or the battery is not charging or not normal. also try to see if the the the sensor or that links the battery to the software which is responsible to the update of charging energy is functioning normal but this is a rare possibility try to focus on the battery or the connector or power cord.
Hope this will able to help solve you problem. If you need more assistance just reply to this post. Thank you
