Where is breaker located in hitachi split ac

you didn`t told if it is already installed or just going to install.by the way,it has no breaker in it even on outdor unit, the only components that switching in it`s power are relays controled by electronic ckt the.installers of it,they just attaching the hot wire from your DB`s to the a/c switch(20 ampers,35 amperes) and going down to indoor units.your main distribution box has its own load schedule for it`s breaker attached in it.and not in your split type unit.the way of tracing it is look for the label opposite side of DB`s cover and it shows you where of those breakers are loaded by your a/c.

I believe I might need to change my (20 amp) breaker switch that is running on 10-2 wire which supplies power to my Rheem Classic 10 Seer. I'm not sure if I need to have 220V of power on a 30amp...

Hello, the unit runs on 220 volts that's why # 10 wire must be used. The best bet is to use a 40amp breaker for 220 volts, gives the circuit more protection.

Need to how the power source will be hooked up, and how, it will wire into a 13 SEER Goodman Packaged Unit, with HKR-15 strips. wire size?= 15 Ft. run: panel to unit

Minim 20 amp circuit ... is this 110 or 220? You need to know.

20 amp circuit needs to have #12 wire. If 110 Volts, you need a black, white and green #12. If 220 Volts you need a black, a red, and a green. If you have anything IN the unit that needs 110 (probably not), you need black, Red, White and Green (bare) #12 wire. Definitely needs to be on a dedicated circuit. If your unit has a resistance heater (electric) you will need a 30 amp circuit (probably 220) which needs #10 wire minimum. 220 volt breakers are double. You will need two spaces in your panel box. Would not hurt to put in heavier wire (#8) protected by a 30 amp breaker ... $ is the governing factor.

Having said all of that --- you should be reminded that I dont even know what country you are in nor your prevailing voltage nor what your national or local codes require. My comments based on installing several Goodman products over several years on the Eastern Seaboard.

I have a heat pump/air conditioner that keeps tripping the breaker when I reset the breaker it soundss like it is sizziling is the 30 amp to small for the unit it is a 13 seer cooling system

Why would you ask about a breaker size?

Has it not been properly installed for the unit
& there for years with no problem?

You must know ,that you would need to see
the wiring diagram for the A/C unit, to check on
the required breaker Amperage

You need to call a service tech to troubleshoot
what has failed on the unit & is tripping the breaker

Bad Compressor or Motor,maybe

I have a raka-037jaz air cond. I was wondering what size is this unit? And if my breaker keeps tripping for the outside condenser does that mean my compressor is workIng too hard and needs to be replaced?...

Hello You have a 3 ton unit with a 10 SEER rating.this unit should NEVER be on a 50 amp breaker. The breaker size is on the model plate/sticker....any way the compressor is shot and it is time to find a new 3 ton condensing unit.espescially if it is TRIPPING a 50 amp.Good luck

Just need to find out what max current during hot weather (Houston, Texas) will this unit require? If this is the only thing on the circuit is a 15 amp breaker enough? Thanks Bill

Unless this is a very small unit I would not use anything less than 20 amp. and then only if it is a newer unit with scroll type compressor.
I generally use 30 amp. as most unit of two ton cooling or more can draw 17-26 amp on start up. Hope this helps. I also would not use less than 10 gauge wire for supply. Thank you

www.manual-directory.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2453...0 Hi, although your unit is a 2 1/2 ton, you will be able to get a manual showing you the correct wiring diagram using the model number you supplied. It shows your model above. This is the only way to get a diagram for this unit. Please keep me posted on the out come or if you need more help.

Outdoor unit will not run

Some air conditioners have a thermostat that will not allow the compressor to run below a certain out side tempature as it will cause liquit to come back into the compressor(called slugging) and damage or destroy it.
