Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S40 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Cyber-Shot DSC-S500 I recieved this camera as a gift not even a year ago. About a month ago I took a picture and went to delete then my camera shut off completely. Every time I try to turn my camera on it starts to turn on then it automatically shuts off. I have tried changing the batteries several times but nothing seems to work. My camera shut off with out retracting the lense.

We had similiar problems with ours until we started making sure the camera was kept warm when it was shut off. For some reason, it and the batteries don't like the cold...we were able to extend the battery life if we kept it covered when we weren't using it.

My Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S650 started showing unfocused shots about 7 months ago, and has worsened to almost every shot is unfocused. It does not matter what mode it is in, but I usually use the automatic...

It is problem of lens mechanism and only solution is to replace lens assembly. Local camera repair shop will help you to replace lens assembly because it is not user level repair.

A few days ago, by mistake, someone took three pictures on the video mode and now I cannot print those pictures. What can I do to print them?

All I can think of is to use some editing software on a computer and use it to capture a frame from a video clip, save that as a picture and print normally.

Describe your Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S500

The fault may be with the apature in the lens, or the CCD sensor sensitivity. Go through all the menus first just in case something was changed.

Maybe the camera is in the manual mode, and the apature is turned all the way down???

If all else fails, the camera may be exensive to service.
