LIGHT BUT DISTINCTIVE DARK STREEK TOP TO BOTTOM ON ALL COPIES

Each page I copy has a dark streek about 1/4" wide from top to bottom, I have taken out the cartrage but no help. Is this internal to the copier and is costley to fix? Should I buy a new copier?

You do not need to replace the copier

the cartridge has a charger wire that you can clean with a pencil erasure

Also remove glass and clean the underside of the glass and the mirror

finally

open the fuser area( exit area where you clear jams and remove the wiper / cleaner of the fusr rollers
ad reinsert

look for any lines on the rollers

when you install the toner cartridge lift the shutter that exoses the imaging drum to see if it looks ok
if it has lines on it you may have to replace it ther is a wiper (silicone that will get toner nder it and can cause the lnes

All you can do is reinsert ant try it if it persists relace the cartridge

It is not the fault with its back-light I assumes. Might be of T'Con board. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up older posts there, either by its left side bar, or see it in Timslide option. Make it sure.

All in one x7550 is leaving wide black lines on copies and even on faxes sent out--what's the problem??

The problem is likely the scanner. Both copies and faxes are scanned. Tell it to scan an image. Lift the top, so you can watch the light bar go down the page. Its most likely got a dark area.
If under warranty, make arrangements to get it repaired or replaced. If not it may cost as much as a new printer. It has to be taken apart to replace the part.

Canon screen problem

It sounds like your camera has encountered either a bad CCD issue, which is the image sensor capture device under the lens. Usually when it goes bad, you get crazy colors, or problems with the image. Or you might have a broken LCD, which can be replaced for fairly cheap as well. It is kind of hard to tell from your description with the problem. There is a pretty good company that might have a replacement CCD for you, they usually sell them for cheap 15-25 dollars, or a replacement LCD for around 60-100 dollars.
