Question about Motorola Walkie Talkie 2-Way Radio

1 Answer

Frequency conversion from moto 2-way to FM radio

My boyfriend has a motorola walkie-talkie, and his brother has an FM (iCom) 2-way radio. I also have a 2-way radio. I was wondering if there is a web site or somewhere that I can look to find the conversion frequency so that I can talk to the motorolas using my FM radio. His brother doesn't know how to get the number out of his "memory" on his radio. ANY help would be great!

If you would supply the model names of the radios, it is possible we could help. It would depend on a few factors including but not limited to: 1) Are the radios the same band split (VHF or UHF)? 2) Is one or more of the radios user programmable?

For commecial Motorola and Icom radios you will need the programming software and cables to change the operating frequencies. And, of course the radios must be able to work on the same bands.

The simple answer to your question is no it can't be done.

If you're talking about the hand-held portable radios for the family radio service. You should be able to look up the operaters manuals on line and they will tell you how to program the radios.

You will need to program the MR350 radio to have the frequency and code match. This radio has several other feature such as QT filtering and call alert. For basic operation turn off any special features. If your area is big or has a lot of concrete, then you will need more then just a few cheap radios from thailand, Given range info from broshure is always meant above flat area - not inside building

You will need to set the menu options to match one another. Here is a copy of the user manual to assist you. The frequency, interference code eliminator, and the Qt filter must match one another.
