Question: was the fridge running when you went to pick it up ?
Was it already on ?
My thinking is that you have the ice build up problem too and that it never thawed. If you unplug it, thawing could take days. Seriously. If you take the inside panel off and get some heat on it
only an hour or so.
You have the exact same model I do, and it works good, just designed poorly. It needs a drain hole on that condensor.
And your fan probably is fine. Do not spend $500.
SOURCE: door ajar alarm ringing and refridgerator not cooling enough
it sounds like either a defrost problem or damper door problem it is very well worth fixxing
SOURCE: the refridgerator has not been cold enough, the
The refrigerator itself get cold air from the freezer. There is a small opening that lets air from the freezer to go to the refrigerator area. make sure the cold air from the freezer is getting there. Sometimes there might be a restriction on this vent therefore the refrigerator is not getting enough cold air from the freezer.

is the fan running in the freezer?.
is ther ice build up on the back wall of the freezer?
check fridge control, set midway, same with freezer control
SOURCE: MY GE TFX30PRY still cools but doesn't get
Since you say that it still cools, you need to start out with a thorough cleaning of the condenser grill. If it the air flow is blocked or the condenser grill is extremely dirty or clogged with pet hair, then the unit won't be able to dispel the heat buildup cause by the coolant running through the compressor.
I have found that if you use an air compressor blowing from the rear and a vacuum from the front works pretty good.
