Question about Linksys Computers & Internet
I currently have broadband provided by Cable which is not a wireless system.I have bought the Linksys WAG 160N as a means to provide me with a wireless broadband connection. Will this unit work with Cable or is it for a telephone connection only?If it will work could you please tell me how to connect the wires?
Yes, it will work. Hook it up like this:
Ethernet cable from the back of your cable modem to the internet port of the 160n. Any computer that will be wired to the internet will then run from the ethernet port in the back of the computer to one of the four ports on the 160 otherwise, using your wireless internet, the computer will be able to see the signal put out by the 160 and connect to it. Oh and please take a moment to rate this solution with a fixya rating. Thanks!

Tips for a great answer:

you might have a modem with an ethernet connection to connect to the net .
if you have a laptop you can choose a wireless usb broadband modem which can work on a desktop also once you recieve the modem just insert the modem into a usb port and follow the prompts you might need some drivers for the usb broadband modem which can be supplied by the ISP internet provider
hope this helps
