Hi...

If youre comfortable with taking the rear panel off UNPLUG the AC first and wait several minutes. Back off then spray out dusty areas with a can of "Dust off" or compressed CO2..Walmart and Staples and radio shack sell the stuff.

Dust is a major enemy of TV circuits

Take Care,

Scott

Picture is fuzzy for the first few mins after turning on

This may be an issue with your color wheel where it isn't spinning up to speed at first but finally does after the 2 - 10 minutes. Fairly common in DLP TV's.
This could be fixed by a qualified Hitachi Servicer.

How hard is it to open up a Hitachi 57: Rear

there are just a series of screws to remove the the back and the whole thing opens up. Not sure what to have you used to clean the bulbs off probably just a clean soft electronics cloth. No alchol or windex.

Can`t get clear picture anymore

Hello dhack56,

Can you post a picture of the screen as the TV is playing, this way I can see if the picture is fuzzy, or if the images are split, all of which classify as not a clear picture. A picture of the screen will help with the diagnosis.

Thank you,

Shuttle83

Fuzzy Picture

Good Day, larrys;

Hope you fixed TV by now but if not, try this; order KIT 10 from B&D ENTERPRISES, 1-800-458-6053.
Your problem is in the TV's convergence circuit. The KIT will tell what to do.

Good Luck, big IRISH.
