HI I have the same problem, and actually did the same thing to fix it..any ideas yet? please help
[email protected]
right i actually fixed this..u need to take the top of as usual and unscrew all screws as u would to change the switch and also the screws for the motor cover, remove the motor cover, next to the spongey surround should be a small PCB..this should look like its burnt out, thats if it aint the switch, can only be these 2 problems; switch or PCB, u can buy one of ebay or
..espares...or anywhere ealse that suppkies...good luck
Hi, and thanks for getting back with a solution, do you mean this onehttp://www.espares.co.uk/part/vacuum-cle...
and is it simple to change? i.e. no soldering etc?
Yes this is the part, I actually got my one from ebay, u can find it there, but its roughly the same price, the fitting itself is very easy, just take pictures so u remember how to put it all back together, no solder required, just spade clips, push on, This part is the PCB which controls the speed, there maybe a variation of it, so i would check with ur exact model no & serial no to make sure that it is a match, i don't think this should be a problem, but best to be safe,
I contacted the supplier , the ebay page where I got my one actualy lists the models, www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Numatic-Henry-Hetty-2-Speed-Control-PCB-Module-4-Tag-Genuine-Numatic-Part-208428-/170926441633?pt=UK_Vacuum_Cleaner_Bags_Parts&Chash=item27cc0284a1 , hopefully all is well.
..One more thing, I thought its worth mentioning, remember the rule about "static Charge" therefore contact with skin could short the PCB again ..i think??. but just to be on the safe side where rubber gloves when handling the good PCB,
...and try n earth urself..if u can.
Thanks for getting back, I have one of those anti-static bracelets so will dig it out. Fingers crossed :-)
no probs, good luck, let me know how u goe on...thanks.
