You can log into the router(by plugging up to it and typing its ip address in a web browser address bar) and click on the wireless tab! If you had mac filter enabled or forgot the password you might experience difficulty, in that case you can reset the router! (If you forgot the ip of the router simply plug up to the router and check the ipaddress, The gateway is the address of the router!) To reset the router: Behind the router should be little hole that says reset. Inside that hole is a button that you can press using a pin or straightened out parerclip. With the power on press and hold that button for 10 - 20 secs. You'll know when the router resets because if you look at the lights at the front they will flash! After that you can access the router by logging in to it with the default ip address 192.168.0.1!(type it in a web browser address bar) After that you can configure the router! post back if you need further assistance! regards, babb

How do i reset the password to my 2wire router an connect a wireless laptop

Is your 2Wire Router by AT&T, if so the password is on the side or bottom of the router. Look for Network Key or Network Password on the router.

Once you have that, you simply go to your laptop, and try connecting to your wireless router. It will be the one with the strongest signal if you don't know your SSID. Once you click connect, it will ask you for the password/passphrase or key, type in what you found on the router.

There is really no need to reset the password unless you have some other reason. But there are 2 ways to reset the router's password, you will need to have a computer that is connected to the router with a network cable (most times this is a desktop already connected). Then you will need to know the router's IP Address to type into a internet browser. It will be a set of numbers such as 192.168.1.1 that you would type into the address bar where you normally type www to get to a web page. Once you have the right ip address you will need the router's login id and password. Most times this is set to the default unless whoever set it up changed it. Once you are in the router then you go to the wireless and wireless security area to change the password. If you don't know the ip address or the userid and password for the router, then you can google it on the internet.

If your internet provider is AT&T you might be better off calling them to reset your router's password. They can walk you through it.

Reset password

When you clickRefresh network list, then Choose your wirelessnetwork and then click Connect to your secured Wireless Network, itwill asks for a Network Key before allowing you to connectinto your wireless network. This Network Key is either the WEP, orWPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is used to configure the Wireless Router. The Passphraseis an alternate way to setup the Encryption key.
When you are requested for a Network Key, you can just enter the Passphrasethat was used to configure the Encryption key in the wireless router.http://www.fixya.com/support/r5270415-network_password_network_addressFor information on securing your wireless network, configuring the wireless router and configuring the wireless card in thelaptop/computer, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

From I read online need to reset my belkin router. How doi reset my belkin router so I can use my laptop. The model number is F5D7234-4-BC v1

In the back of every router there is a little hole that is used to reset it. Sometimes is just colored different and some times it says reset next to it. It would be the only one. Just use a pen or paper clip and push in gently so the little rubber depressor does not break and hold it in for 30 seconds(make sure you do 30 sec on a watch nut quick counting). Router needs to be ON when doing reset. Once reset is done you might have to disconnect power to it for another 30 seconds but only if your internet is not working. Hope this helps.

Hello, I recently purchased a new laptop (Sony Vaio, E-Series, VPCEB36FA). Whenever I try to connect this laptop to my home wireless network provided by a 6200 ADSL2+ 4-Port Zhone Router, it never gets...

Seems you forgot everything.
1. You could try the default username : admin with password : admin or username : user with password : user
2. if those not working you can reset your ADSL modem to the factory reset by push the "reset to default button" in the back panel, this will bring your modem to the very first time condition. Use the method 1 to login.

cheers

Loss of wireless connection

Is your laptop able to connect to other networks? If so, your router maybe at fault. Reset the router, if it still doesn't work, you may need a new router. If your laptop has issues connecting to other networks, the wifi radio in your laptop may need to be replaced.

Findng or resetting my wireless network password

You can find the Wireless Network Security key after login to the Router from the Wireless settings of the Router.

Please refer the User Guide of the Router for the instruction to login to the Router or provide the information about the Router (like model number of the Router) so that we can provide the instruction to login to the Router.

Also, you can find the Wireless Network Security Key by using any third party utility like "Wireless Key Viewer" to scan and view the saved Wireless key in the Computer.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!

This may be a silly question, but have you input the WEP key for this new router into your laptop? It will be printed on the router with the serial number and such. It is the middle set, if I remember correctly. View all available networks with the laptop and pick yours. It should ask for the key. Input your new key and such, and you should be good as gold.

Hope this helps!

I need my network key so i can use my new laptop

I'm assuming this is a wireless network key that you need? If so, ask the person who manages the wireless router.

If you own the router, you'll have to connect to it with a cable the first time 'round, and set your laptop's IP to something on the same subnet, like 192.168.1.1, or ..2.1. Enter the router's ip in your browser.

Once you've established a link using a cable, finding out the present key, or resetting it, should be as simple as browsing the web page served by the router.

Changed router settings and now unable to access the network and internet

Just reset the router (there should be a reset button somewhere on it) it will default to open system. Then go back in and select WEP with 64 or 128 bit security. Generate your KEY and next time it connects enter the KEY. You should be set to go!
