- hi liz , been at forums and the HP support site , looking for this active sync issues , i didn't get what operating system you had windows mobile 2003 SE ? and XP or Vista . i'd like to continue offering suggestions , help get you fixed and change the vote . some things if you
haven't tried yet would be to check start / programs / active sync / tools / options / PC tab / where it says use this pc , is your pc NAME showing up ? from that page click options , check enable pc to sync using this connection ., also the drop down box - set to
usb . click ok . close active sync . click start / programs /
ipaq back up / it will scan your files , when done , you see everything is checked , where it says FILE , a little box with 3 dots in it , click that , give it a name , set a location , to a sd card or cf card only , not the
ipaq itself , click ok , click back up . at this point we can do a hard reset and restore your files later if need . if none of the previous things solved your active sync issues , do a hard reset , then on your pc , i would like to
un-install active sync , reinstall active sync v4,5 , if you don't have version 4.5 ,
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/eulas/eula_activesync45_1033.mspx?ProductID=76download it here , after you have reinstall v4.5 and done a hard reset on your 4700 , please try it again . if you do sync up ok , you might want to check all your drivers and software / bios updates from HP ,

software on your personal computer, please add ActiveSync to the
firewall program’s exception list. On your personal computer, in ActiveSync, select
File > Connection Settings.
Confirm that
usb is selected as a potential connection method.
please post back with results . thanks
