Question about Cuisinart DCC-1200 Coffee Maker

5 Answers

DC-1200 Plugged in. The dgital clock did not come on.

Unable to use features (e.g. Program). The brew function works OK. Am I missing something in the User's Guide? Have had the coffeemaker only a few days; have not yet mailed the registration info.

Unplugging and plugging it in may reset the machine .also some other points that u must know about your coffe maker are mentioned below'

The coffee maker has a timer on it that allows you to set the time you want your coffee brewed during a full 24 hour period. There is also a programmable shut-off on the coffee maker so it doesn’t stay hot all day long.
There is a warming plate that is heat adjustable so you can decide the temperature that you want your coffee.
You might like your coffee really hot or you might like it warm. You can decide the temperature of your coffee.
After two hours the warming plate will automatically shut off and if you like to drink coffee for more than two hours you can turn it back on.
The filter included is a permanent filter that is not removable. This is a nice feature.
There is a pause and serve function that will allow you to get a fresh cup of coffee while a pot of coffee is brewing and the coffee will stop pouring out of the filter so you can pour a cup. When you replace the carafe the pot will begin brewing again.

IF IT IS WATER STEAM ISSUE

Fill the water tank with water, open the steam knob and when the water comes out, take off the water tank and let the machine go to it stop.
Close the steam knob and put back the water tank.
Open the steam knob again to get out the air in the system.

    Hope this will help you.

After turning the control knob to "clock" hold in the hour button until the digital display starts flashing.

With the "program" function, turn it to "program" and the display will start flashing.

The "self cleaning" light is a little misleading, It doesn't actually clean itself. You need to do the usual water/vinegar cleaning as with any other coffee maker.

Flip on the toggle switch to "On" and also press the "1-4 cup" button. When used in this mode, the coffee maker must be set to "Auto On."

The clock is saying 18:88 and won't brew coffee

Hmmm .... sounds as though it may have encountered a power
surge overnight. Might try the Microsoft universal corrective action:
1. Unplug the device from the wall socket
2. Leave it out for 1 minute.
3. Plug it back in.
4. Re-set the clock and other settings (autostart, e.g.)
If that doesn't work, then I'm sorry to say that it's toast :=(.

Cuisinart dc 1200 coffee maker auto start mysteriously shuts off

Sounds like the switches got damp when you cleaned it. Let it dry out very thoroughly before you plug it back in. Then set the TIME OF DAY first, and be sure you pay attention to AM/PM if you are not in the 24-hour mode. Next, set the BREW TIME. Once again, heed the AM/PM or you will have nice hot coffee either 12 hours early, or 12 hours late! (I don't know which would be worse.)

How do I program my DeLonghi DCM 485?

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

First you must set the clock. Page 6 of this pdf manual:

http://www.smallappliance.com/images/SmallAppliance/English/products/standard/DCM485.pdf

Then prgram per instructions at the bottom of page 6 and the top of page 7 of the same manual. I note step 2 is missing from the manual.....

3. Press the CLOCK button until the desired brewing time is displayed

(See "How to Set the Clock" section of the manual).

4. Press the ON/OFF button to confirm the automatic time selected.

NOTE: The display panel and the on/off indicator light will flash.

5. Press the PROGRAM button to return to the current time of day (the

ON/OFF button will continue to flash.) The brewing cycle will begin

once the set time is reached and the ON/OFF button stops flashing.

6. If you want to check the automatic time selected, press the

PROGRAM button.

7. To override the automatic brew function, press the ON/OFF button

and the coffee maker will start immediately. Press the ON/OFF
button again to switch the coffee maker off.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

How do you set the clock and program to brew at a specific time?

To program the Auto On
1. Set the desired Brew-Start time.
a. Turn the FUNCTION KNOB to “Prog”.
b. Set the time you want coffee to begin
brewing by using the minute and hour
push-buttons. Follow the same instructions
you used to set the time of day, in
the To set the time section above.
2. Turn the FUNCTION knob to the “Auto On”
position. LCD will display the current time.
3. Lift and release the FLIP SWITCH. The
green indicator light will come on to remind
you that the programming function is in use.
At the programmed time, the red light will
come on as well, indicating that the brew
cycle is starting. Both lights will go off when
keep warm cycle ends.
NOTE: To reactivate the auto-on feature to
start brew cycle at the same time another day,
simply lift and release the FLIP SWITCH. The
green “auto-on” light will illuminate.

Coffee maker shuts off too soon after brewing.

Hello FloydBob, The Cuisinart DCC-1200 has the ability to program the auto-off function that keeps your coffee warmer plate on after brewing is complete.

The unit lets you select the time increments from zero up to 4 hours.

See page 6 of the attached manual for the full instructions for reprogramming the coffee maker.

To program the Variable Auto Off:
1. Turn the FUNCTION KNOB to the “Auto Off”
position. Press and hold the “Hour” button
for 2 seconds. The clock display will start
blinking.
2. Program the coffeemaker to shut off from
zero to four hours after brew cycle is
finished by using the “Hour” and “Minute”
push-buttons.

I figured you might also like to have a complete instruction/owners manual so you can have access for any other questions you might have about your coffee maker, in the future.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

I have a cuisinart coffee maker. I can set the

Unplug the coffeemaker for 20 minutes or longer - not a second less - in order to fully reset it. Then, when you plug it back in, turn the function dial to Clock again. Press and hold the HR button for a few seconds, and then set the hours. It should work now unless it got zapped, as you said.

Good luck!

Switch doesn't work - can't get it to brew anything

Try unpluging for a few minutes . If that doesnt work try moving to a diffrent outlet . If that still doesnt work . It is time to get a new coffee maker or to call them and get it replaced under warrenty .
This is a known problem with this brand , we have been through 5 of them for the same thing .
It could be caused from anything such as wear (depending on how often you brew) to a power surge that went through your line or even a failure ...
