My guess would be to install the HP software once again just to check if software has got corrupted.

I have HP PSC 1210v that has recently stop printing. I have a MAC, when I try to print it says error.

I would suggest uninstall the HP Software and then logging in as a vanilla admin user to see if you can re-install the HP Software Your problem is more than likely a permissions problem and somewhere along the line a program has been added that has change the permissions, likely enabled the "root user account" . This will cause the software installed as 'admin user" to stop functioning.

If this does not fix your problem, please provide your OS Version and method of connectivity (Direct USB / Hun USB / Network).

Setting up (HP Jetdirect print server) Printers on a network

To install the HP printers with a built-in Jetdirect print server as a network printer you need to do the following -
1. Configure the HP's IP address using the printer's Menu options.
Enable the Network and configure the Network settings so it matches the IP range of your network. eg if your IP's are then set the HP to a high number say 100, set the Subnet Mask to
2. Install the HP printer driver on your computer/s using the LPT printer port.
3. Connect the printer to the network hub/router with a LAN cable and power up the printer.
4. Click on Printers an Faxes - right click on the HP printer and click on Properties.
5. Click on Ports and click on Add Port.
6. In available ports - click on Standard TCP/IP Port and then Configure port.
7. Tick the IP box and type in the IP address of the HP's IP address.
8. Click OK and tick Enable bidirectional support and then OK

You need to install the printer driver and configure the TCP/IP port for HP printer the same way on every computer on your network.
Now any computer on your network can print to this printer.

We have a 2420 in the scanning department, which is networked within the hospital. It works perfectly printing regular documents/e-mails/web pages etc., but doesn't respond to a web based application that...

You need to go into the web browser and setup that printer as the "Default" printer, for the Browser. Also ensure, that all settings to do with Web based printing are enabled, in printer properties, also sometimes you must "Select" the page, before you can print, often you are unable to "Quick print" and must do it the "Long Way" as it were, by selecting from Print menu, and selecting all/any settings from there, also ensure you have the most up to date driver installed and sharing is enabled.too.

I have a J6400 all in one series. Troubleshooting says " HP printer cannot find your wireless router. Check that your HP printer network name (SSID) matches your wireless router network name...

If your router is set not to broadcast or has encryption enabled, you will first have to program the printer by software throught a USB cable, or at the panel on the printer. The printer manual should explain how.

If you need a copy of the manual or other support, it's at this link. Just select your exact printer model and operating system first.

Try connecting this printer to a different network wall point in the building. If still no change then move back to original wall point and try changing the connection at the Switch end in the comms room.

If still having problems then try pinging the printer to see if it gives time out or execessively high pings. Got a PC on the network and in windows open a "command" prompt and type ping -t XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX where the address of the printer should be place of the x's.

If linux open a console and type the same thing ping -t XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX.
