I have my laptop in bits looking for this invertor, i've looked online for the part and can not find the part on my laptop. my laptop is a hp pavilion dv1000 bought in about 2005. could you offer some help to where it is in the laptop, or tell me if its wired into the mother board? some pictures, or instructions on where it is would be perfect.

Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "HPSupport" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Download and install the drivers.
Sounds like the LCD backlight or inverter went bad. More probably the inverter,and that's good because,of the two, it's usually cheaper and easier to replace. Before considering those,check the lid switch to make sure that it is operating correctly and not stuck down. Ron
All lights come on HP Pavilion dv1000 but will not boot. looked at motherboard and by power connector there is a blown part the number on the board shows PD27. I need to know what thhe part is or a schematic showing
