Activate bluetooth

hey steven,
The wireless card on this system was an optional purchase at point of sale. If your system came with the card then follow the the troubleshooting steps below.
  • Check the BIOS to ensure the wireless card is detected. Also verify the Wireless setting is turned on and not set to Always Off.
  • If the Bluetooth device is installed, also verify the radio LED is enabled. You can turn the wireless and Bluetooth cards on or off with the wireless switch.
  • If the card does not show up in the BIOS or Device Manager, try reseating the card.

Turn wireless switch fn

Hello Raymond,
If your system does not have a wireless button on the right side of the laptop that turns the wireless on and off then you would turn it on by the key stroke below.
You can press the Fn + F2 key to turn wireless On or Off. Use Windows Mobility Center in the con.trol panel to check the status of the wireless connection.

Just got aspire 3000 .How do I turn on the wireless capeability

The wireless feature (Wireless LAN) on an Acer notebook allows you to connect to available networks. This convenience allows you to use the Internet with network cables, modems or network installation. Acer laptops come with a wireless switch to turn the wireless feature on or off. Once you enable the wireless feature, your Acer notebook can connect to wireless networks within range.

Follow these Instructions

Locate the Wireless LAN switch located on the front of your Acer Notebook. Move the switch to the right to turn on Wireless connections.

Right-click the network icon located on the system tray next to the clock. You should see a list of available wireless networks.

Select the network you want to connect to and click "Connect."

How do I switch on the wireless internet

Depending on the Operating System, you need to turn on the wireless option.

Windows - Look for the wireless signal bar, probably located in the bottom right. When you turn this on, it should search for the wireless signal and find the SSID (broadcasted network name) for your network. Click on yours and it will ask you for your passcode. You should have the passcode from when you set up your wireless router.

Once your system is setup, you may have to restart you browser.

I hope that helps

most acer laptops are like that, you have to turn the wireless system via software, check for the device applications for the wireless device and it will help you whether it is connected or not.

Have wireless internet but no connection to laptop. where's the switch on the laptop to turn it back on?

Hi !

Most of the laptop wireless switch is on the side of the laptop. If there is no physical switch, press the Fn+F2(wireless symbol) to enable the laptop. Double check the wireless LAN if enabled in the system setup. To access system setup, press F2 while the system is booting-up.

Hope this helps !

Thanks.
