Question about Sony SCD-XE680 CD Player
I bought the Sony SCD XE-680 second - hand a few days ago and connected it to my Kenwood Audio Visual Sound Receiver KRF - V505D using the DVD/6Ch setting.I connected it via 5 phono leads ( I do not have a subwoofer, but have the front L, R , the Centre, and the back L and R speakers set up and already working with my DVD Dolby -Digital and DTS Player. The trouble is I set the SACD up to test the speakers , they all hiss accordingly including the Centre, and then when I play the SACDs i have , the Centre channel is utterly silent and various bits of the music are missing.I think I have tried every combination of buttons to get it to work , but have hit a brick wall. Help would be gratefully appreciated! Kind regards Nagimud
Thanks for linking me to some help pages, but I have already tried all what was listed, about multichannel, etc, both on the Amp and on the Sony SACD player. It seems the brick wall will never break down.

Buzzing is usally AC line noise leaking into an un-shielded cable somewhere or a floating ground. If the AC plug is reversible, try that. Sometimes the buzz is from an attached device. Make sure all audio cables are plugged in tightly at each end and routed away from or at right angles to any power cords and away from other sources of strong magnetic fields like TV's. I've also seen variable track lights induce noise but it's usually minor.
Consider the presence of light dimmers, too. Mine induce buzz when the lights are on.
