If you are installing the DVR,
follow the steps below to initialize
the unit as part of the
installation instructions in the Installation/
Operation Manual. This procedure
erases all data on the hard disk
drive and is necessary to ensure
that there is no data that could cause
improper operation when you try
to use it. With a clean hard drive, the
DVR can correctly index recorded
video with the correct time and date.
Once the DVR is initialized, you
should not reinitialize the DVR
again unless you are having
trouble finding and playing back video,
and there is no other solution.
If you have to reinitialize the DVR, make
sure the time and date are
correct before beginning the procedure.

1. Press and hold the Function
button. The Function Key List
appears. Keep holding the
2. Press and release the 0
button, and then release the Function
button. Enter the password if
requested. The Setup Menu
3. Using the front panel buttons,
4. A screen appears and asks if
you want to continue. Use the
buttons to highlight Yes or No to erase the
hard disk drive, and then press
the Play/Pause button.
The default password is 0000. If
you change the password, and
then forget it, you can get into
the system by using 2002.
