Question about Philips CDC775 5-Disc CD Changer

1 Answer

My actually have a Philips FW C775

My cd mini system has a 5 stacker which are one on top of eachother. I don't know it is unable to open, my Grandson happened to be in the room when I walked in him when he yanked something out of the disc player. Since then I have not been able to open any of the drawers or play the radio. Its making all the right sounds of attempting to open unfortunately thats as far as it goes. It would be much appreciated if you could help me at all. Kind Regards Nova

Yanking a magazine out while it is in operation is a recipe for disaster. Probably a disc has gotten jammed in transit, preventing removal of the magazine. You probably will have to disassemble the Philips player enough to get access to the area where the CD is jammed, gently guide it into the magazine, then remove the loaded magazine.

SOURCE: Philips CDR796 CD Recorder

You power off then power back on while holding down the fast forward and rewind buttons on the recording side simultaneously. The display moves through a sequence of numbers and the trays will then open.

Try resoldering the TZA1033 on the top side of the monoboard, and glue a piece of aluminium for cooling on top of it.

Good luck!

My recently made music CD will NOT play in our Philips FW-R7. It will play on all our computers and DVD players. The message is "Wrong Disc." Other music CD we've made do play fine in the FW-R7.

This is common with burned cd's they have trouble playing in different sets. Do prerecorder cd's play fine in your philips? If those are having trouble also you could improve it's playability possibly with a cleaning of the opu. Optical pick up.

Recording trouble

Hi again,

I understand. Must be a glitch somewhere. Anyways, I already posted possible solutions here your original posting/problem. They were:
1. Power on the Philips FW-R7, leave the left tray empty and closed. Open the tray and put in a recorded CD (not a CDR but a regular CD from your music collection), close the right tray. Wait a couple of seconds as the FW-R7 reads the CD. Now open the tray, remove the music CD and insert your CDR. The FW-R7 should read the CDR without the error message and record to the CDR from any source. Let me know if this works for you;
2. laser cleaning or realignment (would need a service center);
3. try using lower then 40X blank CDs.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Shelf system shuts after a few minutes philips FW-R7

In power supply check capacitors ,one of them is leake or dry.Best way of detecting this cap is to have freez it (coolant) to sprey on the sections in power supply and thanindividual capacitors this will definately solve your problem.
