How to cross check your ISP charges your Internet usage fairly

I personally use NetWorx. Witch is a free and simple, yet powerful tool that helps you objectively evaluate your bandwidth situation. You can use it to collect bandwidth usage data and measure the speed of your Internet or any other network connection. NetWorx can help you identify possible sources of network problems, ensure that you do not exceed the bandwidth limits specified by your ISP, or track down suspicious network activity characteristic of Trojan horses and hacker attacks.
The program allows you to monitor all your network connections or a specific network connection (such as Ethernet or PPP) only. The software also features a system of highly customizable visual and sound alerts. You can set it up to alert you when the network connection is down or when some suspicious activity, such as unusually heavy data flow, occurs. It can also automatically disconnect all dial-up connections and shut down the system.
The incoming and outgoing traffic is represented on a line chart and logged to a file, so that you can always view statistics about your daily, weekly and monthly bandwidth usage and dial-up duration. The reports can be exported to a variety of formats, such as HTML, MS Word and Excel, for further analysis.
With NetWorx you can
• Find out and monitor how fast your Internet connection is.
• Find out and monitor how much Internet traffic you consume.
• Verify whether your ISP charges your Internet usage fairly.
• Detect a suspicious network activity on your computer.
• Perform simple network tests such as ping and trace route.
• Be notified about excessive Internet usage

You can download it from here.

Server 2003 freezing

Check event viewer for errors and warnings. Plus monitor performance in task manager, especially for 100% CPU usage.

Best practice is to utilize HP Insight Manager for possible hardware problems.

I am trying to downlaod something but i need to wright a proxy sever but i don't know what a proxy sever is or how to do it?

In computer networks, a proxy server is a server (a computer system or an application program) that acts as an intermediary for requests from clients seeking resources from other servers. A client connects to the proxy server, requesting some service, such as a file, connection, web page, or other resource, available from a different server. The proxy server evaluates the request according to its filtering rules. For example, it may filter traffic by IP address or protocol. If the request is validated by the filter, the proxy provides the resource by connecting to the relevant server and requesting the service on behalf of the client. A proxy server may optionally alter the client's request or the server's response, and sometimes it may serve the request without contacting the specified server. In this case, it 'caches' responses from the remote server, and returns subsequent requests for the same content directly.
A proxy server has a large variety of potential purposes, including:
1: To keep machines behind it anonymous (mainly for security.
2: To speed up access to resources (using caching). Web proxies are commonly used to cache web pages from a web server.
3: To apply access policy to network services or content, e.g. to block undesired sites
4: To log / audit usage, i.e. to provide company employee Internet usage reporting
5: To bypass security/ parental controls

Cannot view my client in handycafe

Check if the LAN cables are connected properly, make sure that client PC's have handycafe client installed and connected to the hub/switch with the server PC.

In some cases wherein the server has two LAN Cards installed, make sure to choose the LAN Card which is connected to the hub/switch where the client PC's are also connected during the initial start-up of the Handycafe software.

Note: Check if the hub/switch or router (whichever you're using) does not have a problem.

Dell PowerEdege 1600SC not recognizing IO devices

Just go into the bios and insert the correct parameters. you shut it off before it could save the settings. Or hit fi on boot and it should take you into the bios and you cand sort it out in there. If you want an easy way, just do a system restore. Start,Programs, accesorys, system tools, system restore, just go back a day or two before you had that issue, and you should be good to go, good luck
