You can get an upgraded version of the Philips Media Converter from Philips website. If it still does not see the file(s), then run the file(s) in question through a program called Riva FLV Encoder - set the output for AVI. Once the files in question are converted to AVI format, the Philips Media Converter will see them. Good luck!

Can't find the file.

Convert the video file to AVI format using Riva FLV Encoder (free) - then the Media Converter will recognize the video. also, it couldn't hurt to download the updated Media Converter from Philips website.

Sylvania SMPK8854B MP3 Player File Format Error

hey, the way to do it is to install that little cd that came with it and save them to your desktop…now when you see them appear open the AVI converter…this will bring up a screen that asks to add the videos you want to convert and also a destination…just browse that and find your video that you want to convert and then make the destination the mp3 player and click convert…and whallaa! it will be ready to look at in your mp3 player…takes some playing with, but you’ll get it…God bless! <><

I can't download video

Hi, this is the only way I know how to upload videos on it.
1) put in installation disc, and drag the file MTVVideoConverter_Ver1.12.11.3 out to the desktop.
2) Download any video file and convert is to mpg (mpeg).
3) Open the folder and open the file with the camera image that says video.
4) input the file onto the converter and put the output frame size to 160x128 and output frame rate to sports video.
5) When conversion is done, open your mp4 player. Go to the Menu and find settings. In settings go to usb mode and switch to msc,
6) Plug in the usb connected to your player to your computer.
7) Go to start on your computer and open the mp4 player folder there you will see the directories.
8) drag the converted file into the movies directory.

Omg 8 steps?! Haha. I hoped this helped!
This is exactly how I did mines :)

Converting files

There's freeware online that you can download and use to convert the file format. I suggest using Maniac Tools (I believe it has the file conversion you are looking for, if not, it's easy enough to google search "freeware convert wma to mp3" and that should give you a few to look at); it's very easy to figure out and use after downloading.

Here's the link to the download:

Downloading Movie Files

Movie or video files on the Delstar DS802 need to be in the AMV format.
Look for the MP3 Player Utilities 4.07 that came on the install CD or you can get a converter at:
http://www.mympxplayer.org/
On the left side of screen look for downloads
Tools
under CATEGORY look for mp3 utilities or AMV converter
http://www.mympxplayer.org/mp3-player-utilities-dc44.html

Tech support recommend that I use a 4.0 or 4.03 version (Note that the MP3 Player Utilities 5.09 did not convert correctly for me)

However, as noted above, the MP3 Player Utilities 4.07 came on the install CD. It worked for me. Convert the file, drag and drop the converted file to the DS802, unplug the USB, select Movie, click initialize button on the side and play!

the video converter only lets you convert one format which is ".WMV"( I think),and it tries to make your life very difficult so here is quick solution. the only way to convert your videos is to work around the problem.

PAY ATTENTION and remember this steps

1st. go to this youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nado0jumx...

, it will give you a website that converts media.: http://www.mediaconverter.org/

2nd. once you get to that website choose if you want to convert a video from your computer or directly from youtube. then press next.
3rd. when it asks you:Choose the file type to convert to:
pick the format that says WMV.
then click next, skip with no changes and press next again, and it will converted it for you, now just wait a little and wait until it tells you you can downloaded.

4th. once you save the file "in" your computer open the converter that came with the mp3, press add; then look for the file that was converted(note:if the video you converted was originally from your computer, there will be two files, the original, and the one you converted, make sure you pick the one that is converted) it will probably be installed in your desktop so look for documents and settings, then click on owner, and then click desktop, finally click on the video.

5th.(your almot done)once the video apears in the chart press on the right hand side were it says play, if it plays that means you can convert it now,(if it doesn't you did something wrong), press were it says convert. wait a few minutes

6th. once its done, make sure you go to the target folder, thats were the newly converted video will be at, once you go that folder connect the player,a new window will appear. then go back were it shows the converted video(you can tell its converted because it will have a weird icon, windows wont be able to play it, and it will have an ".SMV" at the end of the name.) right click and copy or cut, then go to the new window you opened by connecting the player opal and just right click anywere and choose the option that says paste.

AND FINALLY: unplug the player, turn it on, go to your videos and it should be there
