Unfortunately there are no gameboys that have memory "built in", so they device you have is either an imitation gameboy or a gameboy loaded with "hacked / illegal" software. Unfortunately these are very flaky and are known to have issues. You may want to talk to whoever you purchased it from, but it is definitely not a regular gameboy.
this means the input in the lcd is messed up, the way television screens work, and I have been told LCD's is first a wire tells the screen to start printing, lists all of the pixels on that line, then start the next line, if the input is wrong then the lcd could be flipped,
The other awnswer is not so simple, there may or may not be a chip in the gba that is called a flip flop, this reverses 1s to 0s and 0s to 1s, this could potentially reverse the input.
How comfortable are you with opening you GBA? This website below is a site that I found to purchase a new screen. All you need to do now is to figure out how to open and remove the old screen. The rest should be a snap. http://store.videogamecentral.com/gbareplscreen.html
it may be a technical difficulty in the gba slot try bowing in it or get a q tip and kinda dust it out or blow in the game becuse the game isint making any connections to the ds and with the charger thing if u push in the charger too hard you might mess up the reciving thing inside the ds so it wont get the charge so be very careful when it comes to ds.....if u have any more questions plz let me know
