You have Y Sustainer problem. However, normally they have to change both Y Sus and Z Sus boards at the same time. If you lucky than it's just a fuse on the Y sustainer blown (the chance is very rare) otherwise the IPM on the Y/X sustainer board is short. This is a common problem and costly repair for Plasma TV.

And if you wanna have customer service then just call on call 877-543-8325
they will help you quick out.

And you have not posted, either you can still hear sound or not if you are able to hear sound the try below idea once.
Connect tv to cable direct also try unplugging both converter and tv for a while like 5-6 minutes and plug both back in see if tv and converter sync.

Thank you,

Check your cables and TV input settings.  Can you get to the on screen menu?  Does anything appear on the screen when the tv is on?

I have a Zenith 50" Plasma. I was watching tv, then heard a load pop and the screen goes black. I have power and sound, but no picture. What's the deal?

If this tv is 2-3 yrs pld, your problem is going to be you Y-sustain board or your Z-sustain board. This is a board level repair unit. These boards usually cost about $300, give or take.

I heard a pop noise then picture went out. when i power on tv i get a red flashing light instead of greenlight in left corner of tv. I have a 2002 pioneer 50 inch plasma

The 'POP' noise was likely a capacitor saying farewell.

If you are able, AND confident with electrics - take the TV apart (UNPLUG)

These TVs are very heavily populated with Surface Mount components - I suspect that you will likely find - what looks like a small can (half a centimetre in diameter, with 'candyfloss' coming out of it..)
YES - You could get a replacement from somewhere like Maplin / Radioshack......
Replacement will work - However...you really need to establish WHY it went Pop, and get to the root cause (Excess power feed / drain)
Realistically - without sounding too negative . . other components would have also been affected but not necessarily killed.

Good Luck.
