Do you hear it trying to draw water into the ice tray? If so, there might be an internal problem you can't fix yourself. especially since the fridge is dispencing water. Is the arm inside the ice maker pushe down? This is what tells the ice maker to fill and make the ice.

Let me know if this helps.

Water in door dispencer but no ice cubes in freezer

Remove the water line in the back of refrigerator going into the ice maker - its likely the line froze. Once thawed (about an hour) put the water line back on and cycle the ice maker - you should hear the water go into the ice maker.

I have a Crosley side by side refrigerator. I replaced my ice maker line due to a water line repair. Now, I can't get any water to come out the door or in the icemaker

Note: Always make sure your filter is current if you have one. Not doing so will cause water to not despence properly
Pull the machine out and remove the lower back cover. Locate the water valve. With the water turned on and connected remove the 5/16" water line (the bigger one) and then have someone else press the water in the door. If the cylinoid is operating correctly it should spray water out.If so, you just verified that the valve and electrical portions are working properly and either the filter is bad or the resevoir, , located inside the lower refrigerator side is frozen. If no water comes out but the valve vibrates, then the valve is bad. If no water and no vibration, continue reading. With the machine plugged in but the wires that go to the valve for the dispenser off take a volt meter and place a lead to each wire and have someone press the panel in the door as if getting water. The reading should go from 0 to around 115-120 a/c.If your not getting electricity down there at anytime than thje door switch is bad.
Testing the ice maker:
As far as the smaller line (1/4") you have to manually advance the ice maker and wait for it to call for water with the 1/4" line disconnected from the valve. For whirlpool and its subsidaries, you can do this by getting a jumper wire, removing the cover of icemaker, which you jsut grab and pull off, and using the jumper wire insert one end of the wire into the cirle marked m and the other in the cicle marked n. Leave there until you hear a click and sometimes see a little spark behind the modular head wheel. For GE, you turtn the ice maker off, wait about a minute then turn back on, water should automatically shoot water in the icemaker. That will tell you the water valve is good and icemaker is bad, or the ice maker is good and the valve is bad if no water. Also if you see ice in the maker that hasn't dumper and the teeth of the icemaker are facing any direction other than two o clock position, the icemaker is bad. Also check the fill tube to be sure the no ice is blocking water from coming in.

No water in ice maker we bought this appliance second hand and installed it this afternoon. There is water in the door dispencer, but not in the ice maker Thank you Johan Kruger

If you just installed this unit it may take time for the icemaker to start to receive water. The water through the door you had to sit and keep button depressed to clear the air from in the line. The icemaker only calls for water for 7.2 seconds. It usually takes a few cycles before ice maker gets water. Give it 24hrs and see if it helps. Make sure the arm on the icemaker is set to on. Usually pushed down.If you have any questions Please comment me back

No ice

Remove the back of the unit, remove the water valve from under the unit without damaging the water line. trade the wires that connect the valves. depress the water selector at the dispencer. if you hear water flowing, replace the dual water valve. You have to achive 15 degrees to cycle the icemaker but in most cases you can lift the bar on the icemaker for 3 minutes and then lower it to cycle the icemaker. If you remove the front white cover from the icemaker , then force clockwise movement on the large cam, the icemaker will then cycle. It requires only a very small amount of force to start the movement. If it doesnt cycle, replace the icemaker. If both the icemaker cycles and the water valve operates, you will need to call a qualified tech to correct the temperature problem if 15 degrees is not achived.

Will not make ice but will give water model number is gss22wgmb ww

check the dual water valve one side is for the icemaker the other for the water in the door
either a water valve issue or a ice maker problem
if the valve checks good check the line off of the valve to the ice maker you should be able to blow thorugh the line to the ice maker if you caint blow through the line it is frozen in the freezer behind the icemaker and will need to be thawed
if you can blow though the line to the icemaker
replace the icemaker

if your ice maker is making ice and it is your ice dispencer that is not working along with your water dispencer and when you press the dispencer button the light dims on the door. I would replace the main board. I experienced the same problem and the board fixed it This board is shared by many models and brands of fridges and the transformer goes bad from power surges this board powers the solenoid valves that open for your water
