My Averatec laptop is not functioning normally and needs to be rebooted. It will turn on and go to the Averatec logo screen that is white but it will not go to the recovery software when I press f4, it makes a weird clicking sound and it goes to a black screen that says the following:
Intel UNDI, PXE-2.0 (build 082) Copyright (C) 1997, 1998, 1999 Intel Corporation VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter v2.33 (2004/01/05) PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-MOF: Exiting Intel PXE ROM.
Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key
That is all that is says and I'm not sure what it means because I was given some instructions with my computer that says that my re-boot cd is already pre-installed on my notebook hard drive. When I press any keys the message repeats itself over and over so I can't do anything. However, when it is on the white averatec logo page right when it turns on I can press f2 and it will take me to a blue screen called BIOS Setup Utility but nothing happens when I click on anything.Do you know what the problem is and can you help me to make my computer start like normal again?

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.
double check and make sure you have not deactivated the wireless function. Most laptops have a function key in combination with an fkey that will turn on and off the wireless, check your users manual for the specific key function, if you do not have the manual check the web site of the MFG for one. Good luck
You should not need a driver for that. If there is a plug on the laptop to connect the monitor, simply plug it and reboot. You probably need to use some key combination to activate the external display. Mostly "Fn" + one of the function keys (it will have a monitor shown on it).
