Need Cyberdrive / khypermedia dvd cdx082d xp drivers

Just need drivers. Cyberdrive / khypermedia went out of business and I don't have the drivers anymore after doing a format.

The drive is recognized in the bios but not in windows. It worked great and was recognized until I did a complete system format.

I didn't need the drivers after all. This drive is automatically detected by windows. The problem was that not only did I not have the drive showing up but I also did not have the secondary ide channels showing up in the device manager. I had two cd/dvd drives on the system. One was showing and the other was not. So, I unplugged the IDE card from the cd drive that was showing and did a reboot. That forced the secondary ide channel to appear as well as the cd/dvd drive that was not previously showing. I shut down, plugged in the other drive as well and rebooted. They both appeared and the system is working great now. Also note, that I had updated from xp sp2 to xp sp3 and my system started having an extremely slow boot up...black screen in between. Once I got both ide channels appearing and the drives working that slowness disappeared. Hope this helps others who might run into the same problem.

I also have a Pioneer 105 and Nec 1300A that are in externalenclosures, but I tend to stick with the Cyberdrive right now. The BTCwrite some media fine (ProdiscS03) and others not so good (Rytek G03and G04) so I primarily use it to read tough disks as that is all Iconsider it really reliable at.
Its a shot in the dark, so please don't vote unless I FIXYA!

You can't find the drivers because you don't need drivers for it, and since Beyond Micro went out of business they have no support for the drive anymore. Time to drop kick that baby back to the stone age.

Worked in other computer in this Gateway Celeron 1.2gh it does not recognize that it has a cd or dvd in it. Running WinXP Pro with sp2, roxio 9 and Cyberlink PowerDVD6

If the pc isn't recognizing the hardware the main reason this happens is that you need to install the proper drivers.

Need drivers for the khypermedia cdrw

You shouldn't need any special drivers for a standard IDE CD drive. Support for these devices is built into Windows and other operating systems. If you just hook up the power and data cables, set the master/slave/cable select jumper correctly for your system, and start your computer, the drive should be ready to use.

What specifically is happening that has you asking for drivers?

If the drive isn't recognized at all, you might have a bad cable or the drive is bad. If your CD burner program doesn't recognize the drive you might need an update for that program (but the drive is from 2003, so it should be supported already).

Hope this helps. If you need more information, please give more details of what is happening.

Try cleaning the lens,,,
if you did that uninstall the drive, Connect it to a different IDE or SATA (depending on what type of drive it is) and verify you got the jumpers right...
Try that if its no dice try it on a different computer to ensure the drive is dead and not a problem with the computer. If its dead replace it, if it the comp. 1 do a virus scan, then 2.) do a registery scan, if that fails format and reinstall windows and the drivers.. as well as your software.. remember to backup... LET ME KNOW HOW IT PLAYS OFF.
