I have read some peoples answers that it is not worth fixing. Have had constant mould issues with the rubber at the front as well.
The plastic is the drum has dropped so its eating a way the plastic on the back of the drum so no not worth fixing the mould is an easy fix just soke a cloth with neat bleach and leave over night make sure you do a rines after woulds as you don't want bleach on your cloths ok
So in your opinion it is not worth having someone come out and try to fix the drum? We tried putting bleach directly on the mould on the rubber seal, but even that wouldn't get rid of it. I have noticed cloths never smelling as fresh as when we first bought the washer... Will probably look into a top loading HE washer next. Thanks for you help!!

Make sure all springs are still in their place tilt the machine back and look under it and you can see them. 2nd all legs must be level as well as the floor.
SOURCE: Kenmore front loading HE3 makes knocking sounds during spin cycle
Ours started knocking several months ago and then progressed to a high pitched sound when in the spin cycle. I manually turned the drum and heard and felt a bearing roughness. I lifted the drum assembly and felt a fair amount of play, which I think the initial knocking noise came from. On the sears web site a new rear drum mount cost 293.00. Today we went and bought a LG model wm2455hw at Home depot, on sale until 2/20/08. I couldn't see paying to repair a machine that only lasted four years.

Unless your front loader is set firmly on concrete
and leveled to perfection, the force of a heavy wash load spinning in
excess of 1000rpm will create a bit of vibration and noise.A firm footing is your best defense against to much movement.
Also due to the earlier movements during the spin cycle, the
shocks that are used to dampen the spin cycle might have been broken or
damaged.
If the problem persists inspite of proper levelling, please do check for the shocks or might have them replaced them for good.

Most washer tubs are suspended by heavy rubber O-rings. These do fail with age so that the tub is not being held centered anymore. I suspect one of them has failed or come off during a severely unbalanced load.

The clutch is likely failed again - or the coupling this time.
