Question about Frigidaire GPDB698SSBK Dishwasher
Hi there i have a real problem i was givin a frigidaire dishwasher a fairly new one, anyway the power cord was cut so i installed a new one. well i went to plug it in and turn it on and nothing happened. i do not have the water supply hose hooked up to the hot water yet will that cause the machine not to come on?
Depends on the sequence. many, but not all, dishwashers start with drain to get rid of the slops. if yours starts with fill, then no water supply will prevent progress.(you should be able to hear a low hum which is the valve energised) check also that the door is closing properly and latching. better to use cold water fill not hot

Tips for a great answer:
Thank you for your inquiry, Elizabeth!
I see that your Frigidaire dishwasher is displaying an error code of "UL" and you would like to know what it means. A "UL" error code means that your dishwasher is in relay test mode. You should be able to clear out the error code by pressing cancel and holding down the hi-temp button. If that does not clear out your error code I would suggest performing a reset on your dishwasher and you can do that by flipping the household circuit breaker off for at least ten minutes. Hopefully this information is helpful. -Matt

Hi friend, thank you for your post!
I understand that the green light for your lock on your Frigidaire dishwasher is not turning off. I see your question is labeled under the model number GSB5712BC based off the design of that control panel you should be able to hold down the power dry button and the lock light should turn off.
If that does not correct the issue I would perform a reset on your dishwasher. You can do that by unplugging the power cord or flipping the household circuit breaker for ten minutes. I hope this is helpful. -Matt
