How to download my microsoft lifecam? my webcam cannot be detected by the laptop.

if it is an internal camera, then it is possible that either one of two things is wrong A: Your camera has a manufacturers defect, which means it will not work what so ever.
B: The drivers package you have is faulty, and will require either 1: Updating the drivers, 2: Rolling back the drivers, or 3: removing all drivers and reinstalling them.
Now, if it is an external Camera, using a USB 2.0 port, which is usually standard for those, then it is possible that A: the plug is not in far enough ( i had this problem with mine to be exact). B: If using an Extension cord, to be able to move the camera into a more actionable position, then the cord could be faulty (again, i have the same issue, i own 4 USB extensions, they all wont transmit for a webcam) C: The USB port could be bad, which actually happens frequently enough, especially in Laptops.
First thing to do is go to your Device Manager In the Control Panel. To find this, go to the Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager: Next, If there is a problem, it will be listed in one of two areas there, One is under the Undefined or Unknown, which means, your computer see's something, but is not sure what it is. or it will be listed under video with, also, a Yellow Triangle with an Exclamation Mark in the center, show their is a fault in the software drivers.
I do hope that this has assisted you, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

My picture on the computer the person i am talking to keeps freezing every few minutes, I have 3 webcams and they all do it, My new webcam is a logitech C200

The issue is likely your Internet bandwidth. Try using a wired connection from your computer to your modem as opposed to a wireless one. Make sure the webcams are plugged directly into the computer and not through a hub or extension cable. Also run a speed test to make sure you have at least 256kb of upload speed.

Webcam does not work with cable usb extension

That should tell you that your extension is causing the problem. Try connecting with the same cable on another computer, if it still doesn't work, try another cable.

While the cam starts , it says check if webcam is plugged in and the cam doesnot start

Check your usb cord to make sure it does not have any shorts and if that does not work, then try a new cord.

well i had the same problem... after installing the driver and clicking the hamcap, a dialogue box appears saying that there is no video capture HARDWARE (means that the computer does not recognize the hardware) ...

Suggested solution:
Well what i did was to unplug the usb cord of my webcam and restart the computer... then plug back the usb cord of my webcam... then on the lower right of my windows it says new hardware found.. then click on install hardware... then click the hamcap short icon and walla!! there you go it works...
hope this helps... :)
