How to download my microsoft lifecam? my webcam cannot be detected by the laptop.
if it is an internal camera, then it is possible that either one of two things is wrong
A: Your camera has a manufacturers defect, which means it will not work what so ever.
B: The drivers package you have is faulty, and will require either 1: Updating the drivers, 2: Rolling back the drivers, or 3: removing all drivers and reinstalling them.
Now, if it is an external Camera, using a USB 2.0 port, which is usually standard for those, then it is possible that
A: the plug is not in far enough ( i had this problem with mine to be exact).
B: If using an Extension cord, to be able to move the camera into a more actionable position, then the cord could be faulty (again, i have the same issue, i own 4 USB extensions, they all wont transmit for a webcam)
C: The USB port could be bad, which actually happens frequently enough, especially in Laptops.
First thing to do is go to your Device Manager In the Control Panel. To find this, go to the Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager: Next, If there is a problem, it will be listed in one of two areas there, One is under the Undefined or Unknown, which means, your computer see's something, but is not sure what it is. or it will be listed under video with, also, a Yellow Triangle with an Exclamation Mark in the center, show their is a fault in the software drivers.
I do hope that this has assisted you, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
