Question about Gmc Dodge Ford Reverse Back-up Sensor Alarm Kit
I have a 2002 Ford f350 with the Reverse Sensing System (RSS), a couple months ago it stopped working. The switch on the dash used to enabld/disable the RSS remains in the "OFF" posistion continuously. All sensors in the bumper are in good condition, nothing unusual happened to trigger the malfunction. It literally worked one minute, then did'nt the next. Pressing the switch does nothing, it should auto enable when in reverse, and manually disabled with the dash switch if desired. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you email@example.com

TOYOTA codes are virtually impossible to obtain for free from anywhere on the Internet as access is required to the original factory database.
A few of the older ones are hardwired codes and the only place I know who may be able to help is here
If not, or you are in a rush , it might be quicker to try your Main Toyota Dealer or take it into a Decode Service

Try link below, may point you in right direction, but you'll have to scroll down & find what you need. Otherwise I'd start from bumper with test light & work my way back toward front harness, after all fuses, plugs etc been checked.

Yes there is a reverse light back up switch located on the side of the transmission it will be the only 2 wires going to the tranny. There might be a short in the switch itself or the power wire to switch might have a bare spot where it might be grounding out on the vehicle somewhere.

This is a common problem especially on the first gen 100series (1998-2000), the problem is in the master switch panel in the driver door, it is very rarely the relay, you could try and open the individual switches for a clean out and re-assemble, but its better to go to the breakers yard and get another unit, or a brand new one from the dealer ( expensive!!!).
The unit is designed to unlock the door automatically if you leave the key in the ignition and try and lock the door manually, the problem seems to stem from this function. however its mostly faulty panels units.
Newer cruisers dont have seem to have this issue iwth faulty switch panels.
