I think your speakers are broken.

SOURCE: my speakers do not work

The Dell has a "Fn" key. The "Fn" used with other keys control special features. I have a Dell keyboard here, on it holding the "Fn" and pressing "End" will alternately mute/unmute the speakers. "Fn" + "Page up" will raise volume, "Fn" + "Page down" will lower. You may have the volume muted, or turned all the way down.
The keyboard I have is from an 1100, your "Fn" key combinations may vary from mine.

It sounds like that port is set to mono, go to properties and check that.

No sounds comes out in headset but external volume is ok

Try to use external speaker. connect it where you usually connect your head and check if it work . If ever the external speaker will work it only means that the problem is your headset ( defective )If in case the external speaker will not work it means the problem is the terminal ( the port where the headset or external speaker connection )

My laptop speakers are not working but there is sound when i attach headset

once cause is that your onboard speaker on your laptop was already been busted, My suggestion is better to use headset or external speaker. Or also try to navigate control panel and go to sound settings then check if their is an option for internal speaker being used. If not then better to use your headset or external speaker. Hope it helps thanks.

No sound from the speakers with my dell laptop inspiron 700m I trouble checked everything.I have the sound when I plug my headset. Is it a sound card or a driver problem? Can I download another driver?...

Fred if you get sound to your headset from the same port you get no sound for your speakers, it is the speakers and not your headset. Are there any speaker lights on at all? If not maybe your power supply for the speakers is bad.Try a different set of speakers in the same computer and see what happens. If they work, the speakers are bad. Otherwise you have some strange connection problem.

How to stop sound from laptop when head set is connected?

The sound should automatically only come from the headset when its connected to the sound plug, if you are using a bluetooth headset or similiar, you may have to mute the computer speaker but keep the sound on the headset.

If you need further assistance please post me the brand and model of your laptop and details about your headset.
Thanks

Sound only works with headset. No longer comes

If the sound is working through another device then it seems that the internal speakers are bad. Because if the sound card was bad you wouldn't have any sound whatsoever, same goes for drivers. Probably just some bad speakers. If you have some other external speakers try plugging them into the headphone port and see if that helps.

Laptop speakers not working

Hi you can try this:

From Start, go into Control Panel, then select Sounds, Speech & Audio devices, then Sounds and Audio Devices again.

On Volume tab, click on Advanced. Now choose Laptop stereo speakers. This may sort out the problem. Try the other options if they still don't work.

Kind of confused with the question.
I would suggest you look at the line out and make sure that is not muted withing the sound settings.
Sometimes that happens.
If you are using the headphone part and you plug in the headphones it should turn off the computer speakers and goto the headphones.
If not then there is a different issue.
Happy Holidays
