Question about Sharp Aquos LC-20B4U-S 20 in. LCD EDTV
The picture is perfectly watchable. But there are two faint images running vertically on the left and right sides of the picture that are best described as looking like water marks on paper, or what it looks like if you try and remove a stain from clothes by using a dry cleaning solution and it leaves a faint ring. It looks a little like a faint vertical coastline on a map. It's on all channels and inputs. I have moved the set into another room and there is no change. I have cleaned the screen. There is an image flip/rotate feature and the 'stains' do not change position.
Then the only possibilitiy at this point is the LCD panel having some kind of defect in it. Since you flipped the picture and no change it is a permanent mark or failure. Check to see if you have any warranty left as this will be an expensive part if needed. They do list a diffusion sheet part number PSHEP0288CEZZ that will probably be the first layer of the screen assembly.
