I have a Frigidaire air conditioner. I've never had a problem with it,at all until a few minutes ago. It all of a sudden quit working. I pushed the reset button and tried to push power, but nothing....

First check the outlet the unit is plugged into. It may be dead, due to a circuit breaker being tripped. Also, the interior of the outlet may be damaged or has a loose wire.

If a circuit breaker was tripped, unplug the unit before resetting the circuit breaker. Then plug the unit back in and turn it ON. If the breaker trips again, there may be a short in the AC wiring or there is another electric appliance on that same circuit, that may be causing an overload, when the AC unit is ON.

Hope this helps you to start troubleshooting the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

The reset on the plug keeps tripping. Why?

For it to continually trip, there is some sort of short either in the AC Unit or the outlet it's plugged into is damaged or faulty. If you can, plug the unit into another outlet, on a different circuit. If it continually trips again, the fault is in the AC unit. In which case, contact Delonghi Technical Service. 800-322-3848.

Hope this helps you troubleshoot and solve the problem.

The Reset button on cord keeps tripping, when turned on it works for a minute then trips again

There's obviously there is a short or electrical overheating problems omewhere in the appliance that's causing the circuit breaker (Reset Button) to trip. Stop using the AC unit and have it checked by a professional.

My goldstar window air conditioner was working fine one day and then the next day nothing works even just the fan part.i tried pushing thei guess they are circuit breakers on the plug part that goes into...

Hi, did the surge /protectors/breakers on the cord reset? If they tried to reset then cut off again, you have a short in a component. Check the breaker that supplies the units wall plug to see if it may be tripped. If it is, it will be in the mid position and turn it off hard, and right back on hard. Hopefully it will hold. Do this, if the breaker is tripped, reset it and if it trips again, go to the a/c and unplug it. Now, reset it and it will hold. If you have a part, motor, compressor, or what ever is shorted to ground, when you plug it in and turn it on it should trip the cord and maybe the breaker to. Check these things I have told you and see what happens. If the unit does start up and start to cool, it overloaded for some reason. A part getting ready to go out, drawing to many amps and tripping cord or breaker. You will need to try and service some of it if it is coming on. Go outside and take your garden hose and give the outdoor coil a good washing. It builds up dirt and will cause high head pressures in the unit which in turn will cause it to overload and shut off everything. Clean it well. Inside, make sure the filter is clean behind the cover on the front and the evaporator coil is also clean. Dirt is a killer of these units and should be serviced at least once a year before it gets hot out side. So, do these things, leave the cord unplugged when washing out side, and we can go from there. If it starts to work good after you clean and service it, that was your problem, but keep me posted on this. I need to no the out come. We can take other steps if needed. Please be kind when you rate me for my help, if you feel I was of help. I will be here to help you more if needed.

I cna't get maintence required light to go off and the ac compressor wont come on

You might have an A/c Leak and not have anymore Freon in the system. I would take the CR-V to a shop that deals and is certified with A.C and have them Test your system.

Problem in the power Plug AC doesnt turn on

That means you have a short to ground somewhere in the system. They can be a pain to track down. You must have a volt/ohm meter and check each component and part individually untill you find the short.

There is a small chance that the GFCI is bad itself.(The part thats poping off and has the reset button.)

GFI plug trips when pluged in, no reset

You are trying to draw too much power from the dedicated electrical line, or you may have an outlet that is needing replaced. Try to use another plug, in another room to test
