To determan compatability. GO to the manufactors website and look it us for the brand and model number that you have.   Another option: While on line , install printer using windows "install printer/fax with in the control pannel of your windows operating system and if you printer is listed windows xp,at least,  will attempt to install it and even lok for the driver on the internet for you. If it cannot find the driver you ust go to the brand name printers web site and find you model and download the driver and install it yourself making sure that the version of windows is correct for that driver.

I'd like to buy HP Officejet 4500 Wireless All-in-One Printer. Is it compatible with Window7? Does it come with black and color cartridges or do I have to buy them additionally?

The printer HP Officejet 4500 is fully compatible with Windows 7 (both 32 & 64bit versions). About the cartridges (black & color) the printer is shipped with the cartridges included in the box. I assume that the shop that you are about to buy the printer will not open the box and remove the cartridges.

Hello, HP's printer technicians screwed up my new

That's pretty crazy! I would have told you to turn the printer off, and unplug it from power. Same thing with the computer. Then follow a few basic procedures.

Better grab a cup of coffee, this is going to be a long one.

I have no idea what changes, the 'tech' implemented on your computer. Would have to undo what the 'tech' did step by step.

I do know one thing, however. Using the Restoration Disk/s, is not going to fix Adobe CS4.

We'll have to go step by step. I can only guide you if you have Windows Vista. (The HP Pavilion Elite e9180t is also offered with Windows 7)

Ready?

Printer:

Printer off, unplugged from power. USB cable unplugged from computer side.

You need to go to Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs.
(Left-click on the Windows start button, then click on Control Panel. In Control Panel click on Add/Remove Programs)

When Add/Remove Programs loads, find the HP OfficeJet software listed. Go to the right, and left-click on Remove.

If it asks, 'Do you wish to restart your computer?', the answer is NO.
Close Add/Remove Programs. Close Control Panel. Go back to your desktop screen.
Shut your computer down normally.

Unplug the computer from power. Press the Power On button in, and hold it in for a count of at least Five seconds. Let go of the Power On button.
Do this procedure two more times.

What you are doing is clearing CMOS Error Codes, and resetting BIOS back to the factory default settings. (No, do not take the CMOS battery out)

Now plug the computer back into power. WAIT 1 minute. Turn the computer on. Let Windows load all the way.

Install the installation CD for the OfficeJet printer, into your DVD drive. Install the software. If it asks you to restart your computer, go ahead, and do so.

After Windows has fully loaded again, plug the USB cable of the printer into the computer. Turn the printer on. You should get a message out of your system tray.
'Found New Hardware', and perhaps another one,
'Found Officejet printer'.

You should now have your printer back online.

Quicktime:
Go to Add/Remove Programs, Click on Change.
In the options given, click on Repair.
If this doesn't do it, go back to Add/Remove Programs, and - Remove, Quicktime. Now go to Apple - Quicktime - Download, and download the newest version for Windows Vista.

(If you need help with this, let me know)

Will add more in additional comments section.

I change my computer XP for vista hp. My printer hp Deskjet F340 is not useful anymore. What can I do to fix it? Thank you

there is nothing you can do because vista has known compatability issues with HP printers and other hardware, you could go to the HP support website and look to see if any vista drivers have been released for your model, if not, you either have downgrade to XP or buy a new printer that works with vista

Need to kinow if hp officejet v series is compatable with windows vista on my laptop? Can I install it on my pc?

Yes, I checked several models and they all had Vista drivers and software.
Go to this page :
http://h10061.www1.hp.com/ccsearch/search?pname=officejet+v&opname=HP+Officejet+6310+All-in-One+Printer&qry=compatability&method=prodFinder&enc=UTF-8&ctry=us&lang=en&dlc=en&sni=1119598&search=0&submit.x=0&submit.y=0

And select your model. then on the next page , click on Product support home, which will be under the picture of the printer. Then select the version of Vista.( you probably have Vista 32bit) Download and install.
You may have to copy and paste the link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
