I bought two of these combo’s from ebay the first is

    Details
    ECS G31T-M motherboard
    Intel duo2 3.0 GHz processor
    4gbtes topram
Nividia 1 gig pcie video card
    Sound blaster audigy pro

    Work’s fine

    Second is the

    ECS G31T-M motherboard
    E8500 3.16 duo processor
    4gbtes topram
Nividia 1 gig pcie video card

Hangs on boot trying to enter setup or boot
Doesn’t even register the h/d’s sata or ide or the DVD drive
But is see’s that it’s the 3.16 GHZ Duo and the 4GHZ of TopRam

Would it read these if it was the wrong bios

The reason is the bios does not recognize the e8500 chip. If you bought the combo from Fry's, just take the whole thing (case and all) to Fry's and they'll flash your bios for free. After the bios is updated to at least the 7/17/08 version everything should work okay.

GA-EP43 -UD3L motherboard will not boot with 16 GB of memory

Time to RMA, sounds like you have a faulty memory channel on the MB. Possibility the slots are not getting enough power to handle all 4, you try to see if you can increase power in bios.

Hello here are the supported cpu list for your mainboard:

You maybe have to upgrade the bios to support the new cpu.

I have gigabyte series g31 m-es2L i want use memory pc 5300.... it's support with this mainboard ???? tx pls reply to : it_mid@yahoo.com

Hi,

First, clarification: the closest Gigabyte model is GA-G31M-ES2L... there is no "g31 m-es2L"

For this kind of question the easiest way to find the answer is from the manufacturer: Gigabyte

A quick search of their products results in:

http://www.giga-byte.com/Products/Motherboard/Products_Spec.aspx?ClassValue=Motherboard&ProductID=2889&ProductName=GA-G31M-ES2L

which states that up to 800mhz DDR2 (PC6400) is supported
( 667mhz (PC5300) is also supported. )

Generally with motherboards, if a higher speed of memory is supported, the lower speeds are also supported.

PS: mhz times 8 yields the PCxxxx number, PCxxxx divided by 8 yields the mhz number

PC turns on then quickly turns off

Does it boot fine if you remove the memory you just added? If it does then try switching the memory that was in it before with the memory you just added. You want to first determine if the ram you bought is bad or incompatible.
