I can hear the little micro switch click in the door when I push a water glass into the slot but the water valve on the back of the fridge does not pick .. the one beside it to fill the ice will pick and water will flo to the ice maker.... Question ??/ is there a Relay someplace that may not be working .. I feel sure that the current required to Pick the water valve cannot be supplied by the Micro switch on the door>>>

Thanks a bunch .. I have a Valve on order..

Part of my problem was that the AC volts part of my multimeter was not functional...( now reads 115 Volts Ac with the water switch depressed) I had also used clamp on Ammmeter on the water valve wire NO current .... both ( water & Ice ) measured the same DC resistance about 1/4 ohm .not sure why there is no current measured with the clamp on ammeater. That made me think the valve may be bad... so probally the thing is stuck and when the new one arrives it will fix the problem ... I hope ....

    Thanks for the help...

BTW I also took out the Micro SW .. it is rated at 11 amps @120 volts so that should carry the required Current.. as you stated

Hello , Actually that switch does open your valve in most cases. Some other models have a set of transistors tied into the valve which are external and next to the valve and not many units have this. You need to replace the dual valve if you don't see that set of transistors by the valve in the wiring , they kinda look like in-line fuses. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Also another way to make sure its the valve is by putting a meter on ohms with the power off to the unit connect them to the harness at the water side and depress the water switch in the door. If it ohms out low its the valve if not its a wire or the switch. good luck let me know how it goes.

Water works but ice will not dispense

Check the top of the fridge. The hinge on the left where the door is there should be a wire harness on the top, but on this fridge it might be at the bottom. Inspect all the wires to see physical damage of sorts. Then if you can, tug on them while someone holds the dispenser. You might need a whole new door if it's not the Mainboard.

The ice and water dispenser not working after being perfect for 12 months. the light still works when glass depresses back. There is no light indicator on the symbols.Ice maker is still making ice.

Its possible that yor water line is clogged or your water valve is stuck; will need take oof the cover to check it. First try defrost few hour to test without take off nothing.

My 7-button Frigidaire Gallery ice/water module is not lighting up and not functioning. No ice or water is being dispensed. Wiring harnesses seem to be all intact.

If freezer door switch is not working, dispenser won't work. Does the freezer light go off & on when door is opened & closed? If you have a voltmeter, check that water valve is getting 120 volts when dispenser is pushed in. If no voltage, I would suspect the micro-switch that you hear clicking when you push in with a glass. Even though it clicks, the contacts could still be bad in it. However other than that loose/off wire, ribbon cable for front buttons off/loose, bad board, child lock are something that can make the dispenser dead.

I have GE Modle GSH25JSXB SS side by side refrigerator and i am not getting any water in the water dispenser. Please help.

I have to assume from your description that your icemaker still works, you checked that you still have water running to the appliance, and that the board switches between functions.

The common causes for this issue are either the water cooling coil freezing up. This is located in the fresh water side of the refridgerator. Make sure it is free of obsrtuction and check the temp setting for the fridge.

The micro switch that tells the solenoid valve in the rear of the fridge to open and let water through. If you push in on the dispenser arm you should hear two clicks. The first is the switch, the second is the solenoid opening. If you do not hear the second click the microswitch is bad. Again this is assuming that you still have icemaker functionality.

Last, the line inside the freezer door is frozen. If you remove the grill under the front of the fridge and disconnect the water line coupling you can then press in on the dispenser arm and water should come out of the tube. If it does then the obstruction is in the tube traveling inside the door. It is most likely ice.

Hope that helps.

Hooked up the water supply to my beaumark fridge and there is currently water in the line to the fridge, however, I cannot get the fridge to dispense water from the dispenser, everything else appears to be...

Is the unit brand new? If so there may still be packing / shipping materials preventing the switch activation arm from contacting the micro switch. You should hear an minor click when the water dispenser arm is depressed. If you do not hear a click locate and remove the packing material. If you hear a click then watch to see if the water line in the back of the unit moves at all when the switch is depressed. If it does not move then the water dispenser valve is not warking. Again if it is new this would be a warranty repair.. It may be something as simple as the water valve connector is not properly connected. If it is an older unit and you just now started to use the water thru the door function the water supply vavle could simply be stuck from lack of use. A good thump on the side of the valve lower body can sometimes freel the valve plunger. Getting to this point would require opening the back of the unit. One last thing is if the line moves when the water switch on the front door is activated then you may just have to wait until the air in the line clears. I am assuming you have already tried this method.

The ice maker works fine but we can no longer dispense ice from the door. No sound, nothing. Water dispenser works fine though.

There is a micro switch behind the panel above the dispenser lever. It's the switch that the leaver presses on when you push a glass into it to fill with water. Pop the panel off and you will see the little black switch I'm refering to.

In door water and ice cube not working

Water dispenser is a simple touch switch in door energizing a solenoid water valve behind ventilation grate above refrigerator. Water tube runs down into and ends at ice dispenser chute. Should hear solenoid click at top of fridge when activate water touch switch. Can unhook discharge side of solenoid valve temporarily to prove water output. If water dispenser tube acts blocked it could be frozen where it ends-look up the hole at the bottom of refrigerator control buttons.
Ice maker is totally different system. No clicking when push ice button but ice in bulk tray may mean the simplest of malfunctions: Ice bin not pushed in the last half inch if ice auger not lined up with drive pegs. There are hidden switches behind ice bin that need to be engaged or nothing will happen in the ice maker: no auger noise, no clicking, no new ice making. Ice bin will be flush with sheet metal if it is in the right spot. Also plastic juice rack won't hang properly if ice bin not pushed in all the way.

Kenmore Refrigerator stopped dispensing water

Look up through the ice despencer on the front door of the freezer. Is the flapper door open? If so it needs to be fixed. If its not then try leaving the freezer door open for 3+ hours to defrost the frozen line in the door. If that doesnt work, the water valve must be changed.(located behind fridge, take off back cord board panel at bottom, the valve is blue)... GOODLUCK!

take out ice bin, make sure you get it lined up when put back together, should click, sometimes they are a little off and you have to keep trying, mine has that defect, it works, but only on its terms, its a pain to do, but that can stop it from working due to a safety thing

Kenmore Refrigerator stopped dispensing water

Either your water tank in the fridge froze up, the waterline that goes up the freezer door from the bottom hinge froze, or the switch that your glass hits is damaged. Do you hear any humming or noises when you put your glass up to get water?
