Screeching sound generally form a bad pump, which if didnt pump out correct amoun tof water would probalby send off balance more. unplug unit, ddrain out asmuch wateras possible and tip unit back, you will see the pump in the front right corner, there is a small plastic reles tab, after releasing it the pump simply twists out counter clockwise, perhaps ther is something in the pump/sump. you will see tis when oyou remove the pump, simply reinstalls the same way

My Maytag washer model MAV208DAWWmakes a loud screech at the end of the spin cycle, and the clothes are sill wet

That is the brake. Your clutch maybe wearing out. Or the belt maybe slipping because the rollers for the motor maybe wearing out.

My whirlpool duet washer hammers very loud when it spins. The outside of the machine doesn't seem to vibrate much but it is very loud.

That is a common occurrence with dryers such as this one. Even though it sounds bad, it is harmless. If it really bothers, you can re-balance the load and it should reduce the vibration.

Kenmore 90 plus series washer won't spin, barely agitates, will drain - but makes loud noise

It sounds like the transmission is done. Can't pinpoint what it is exactly, but I would start there.

When water drains and machine goes into spin cycle it starts to make a loud clonking noise. It sounds as if the drum is going to fly out of the machine.

I've experienced this on occasion. stop the washer, redistribute the clothes, etc. so it is evenly balanced. The "rocking" occurs when the balance is uneven.

Loud noises during spin cycles

Hello, If the noise is a squealing or grinding sound, you are likely looking at a bad seal and bearing.
If the noise is a knocking sound, it's more likely a suspension or out of balance condition.
Thanks

Loud Sound

bash11385,
Welcome,

You said, during the Spin Cycle it starts thudding very loud as if someone is pounding on it. What's wrong with it?

You must check tht the wheels are properly installed and lock nuts are tight.
Your washer load is more than likely out of balance or over loaded .
Try moving the clothes around so the weight is balanced .
And remember not to over load the washer with to many articles!

let me know how it goes.
Huuum Please remember to leave a rating.

hi there,

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping/or sound
during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and
redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

Sounds like the "out of balance" mech has been destroyed. Check for that first
