If you are talking about the original Nintendo the original cable that came with it will hook up 3 different ways 1) way is through the vcr through the rca inputs ,2)if your tv is capable use an S-video cable. You can also run it through some of the satellite boxes. 3)hook the tv end of the able to the tv and sat to the little box.

Can the ac adapter for the original NES console cause the console to flicker after 4 minutes then and why?

  • Well yes or the outlit thats its plugged into might not be working right and its not getting enough power to work right then.
    • Well it depends if the ac adapters metal parts on it are really loose or crooked then then yes or if there is something wrong with the inside of the adapter than yes

I bought a NES on ebay, connected it correctly as far as I know, but I press the power button and nothing happens. Please help! Could it be the adapter plug?? Thanks

Well it might be the ac adapter thats causing the problem but it could be a power system failure but most likely the first choice is the answer.

Is the Sega Genesis AC adapter compatible with the NES? And is there a certain type of RF switch that you need for the NES, or are they universal?

Well for the nes ac adapter I use the offical adapter because its licensed Nintendo and thost 3 way adapters are very unrelaible then.

The light wont cut on when i plug in my nintendo. I have tried different outlets so that is not the problem but i am not sure if either it's just the plug or the system itself

Well it might be the ac adapter thats causing the problem because mine works with a new ac adapter and i move the adapter around at a certain angle and wait for it to warm up a little bit and it works it might have the same issue like my super NES has then.So try a new ac adapter to see if it works if not then its the console its self.

Well those 3 way adapters are bad news then use an offical NES ac adapter for ensured quality.

My NES would turn off and on

Sounds like either of 2 things...

1.Your AC adapter is broken so replace it. take note of the voltage and current rating on the unit because you dont want to fry your NES

2.The socket where the ac adapter fits my be dirty or corroded give it a clean with a q-tip and some alchohol.
