I have the same printer, & it prints fine on my desktop pc but to get it to print from my laptop wirelessly I just had to enable printer sharing on both pcs, & then when adding a new printer on my laptop I just had to set it to print over a network. the only problem I get is I have to select the printer when starting a print session.

Just installed HP p6240f desktop with Windows7. Downloaded drivers for HP Officejet 7310 All-In-One Printer. Printer Staus Ok; printing from PC files Ok; printing from HP Solution Cenmter ok; cannot scan...

First, I thought your assistance center would respond to my request since this same problem appears in the HOP website problems & solutions.
I did not resolve the problem after downloading the All In One Series software. It failed to complete the installation after hours of loading.

I did my own tasking and found that I could resolve my oproblem by Control Panel - Devices (printers) - HP 7130 Officejet-Scan Document.
It worked.
Savuing the scanned document is quite different in this Windows7 setup from the prior XP. It is more circuitous to get to where I want to place the file.

Need to network a wireless pc with a cable pc via router

man u have a router!!!!!!!!!

no need to share the connection
just configure ur router,
put ur broadband connection log-in information in the router
so the router will act as a gateway
and the router will start the dhcp server, so both of ur pc's will have ip's from the same subnet
when the router connects to the internet
the 2 pc's will do the same,

File Sharing between 2 PCs

Very simple.. if you don't have a hub or switch, you need a 'cross over cable' which is similar to a normal ethernet cable, but different pin configuration. With the cross over cable between the two pc's (plugged into the ethernet ports) you have to make sure the windows & any third part firewall is off.. change the IP address & subnet mask to the same subnet.. Eg. Click Start button, control panel, click on network connections, click on the local connection that is in connected state, select properties, find the (TCP/IP) option double click on that, select the 'use the following address' radio button (dot in the circle) then enter a new (ficticious) address like 10.0.0.8, then a subnet of 255.255.255.0 - Then do the same on the other PC.. except the IP address must be different Eg 10.0.0.7 - There are a number of other ways to do this, but this is probably the simplist. Remember to put the IP back to way you found it, otherwise your internet access may not work when you plug your normal internet cable back in. Remember o turn the firewall back on. Boot the pc's. Good Luck.
