Hold and press the power button down ( and dont let go ) for at least 10 seconds or untill laptop shuts down and you can reboot by powering it back up by pressing power again. If it still shows access denied after you rebooted then more than likely you need a password.

SOURCE: reboot maah hp for hp dv6405us

Hi Ash,
1. Check the CD drive and remove any CD inside.
2. Remove any USB drive from the USB port.
Your laptop could be configure to start up from CD, USB, or Floppy Drive before the hard disk.

I have encrypted my local disk using bitlocker encryption and now it shows Local Disk(D:) is not accessible Access is denied and when i right click it was not showing security tab. please help me

Try This:

Before you start
  • You must be logged on as an administrator.

  • The volume must be encrypted.

To turn off BitLocker Drive Encryption
  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Security, and then click BitLocker Drive Encryption.
  2. From the BitLocker Drive Encryption page, find the volume on which you want BitLocker Drive Encryption turned off, and click Turn Off BitLocker Drive Encryption.
  3. From the What level of decryption do you want dialog box, click either Disable BitLocker Drive Encryption or Decrypt the volume as needed.
By completing this procedure, you have either disabled BitLocker or decrypted the operating system volume.

    Good Luck!!

My laptop fell down and it says I should insert a bootable disc which I dnt have.

The hard disk could be faulty, they do not like being dropped.
First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

CD/DVD

Go to your device manager and delete your CD/DVD drive from the list, then reboot your PC. If the drive is functioning as normal then it will reinstall it's self upon reboot. Then try to see if it will read.

What is th Approx age on the drive?

Cant access my hard drive says access denied

Right click the hd in my computer
choose properties
click security tab
see the permissions your account has got on the hd.
if your account is part of administrators group you can add your account, get full control on the hd or take ownership of the drive.

HP DV4000 Series not detecting newly installed DVD±RW LightScribe

The type of CD/DVD recorder is suppose to be automatically detected by your Plug N Play portion of your BIOS. Reboot and press the "F" key combination that will bring up the boot process as opposed to the CMOS Settings. See if the correct DVD model shows up as one of your boot electives. You may be able to change it in that window. If not then reboot to BIOS and change it there.

do you seriously write this way intentionally? if you do, stop it. if you dont, stop it! ok hopefully from what i make of your ill attempt at communication, you have two hard drives. there are programs that may retreive the data which was deleted, some for free. get what you can off and stored on another computer. download the disk you need and "redo" your laptop "reinstall" your personal effects and you are done. do you understand or do i need to use smaller words. please learn to write in proper sentences.
