tried several times to no avail. dynex couldn't help either. i guess i could live without a clock on my tv.

    thanks

  • howsterfeld Jan 09, 2009

dynex support actually said to hook the tv to my digital box, but to do that was a real bother since my main tv was already in the entertainment center. your suggestion seems very reasonable. if i can find the resolve, i may take your suggestion.

    thanks

According to the documentation in the manuals, the clock is only able to be set is you have an HD/digital cable service hooked up to it. the tv is supposed to auto set from the feed. sort of like your cell phone does when it has contact with the system.

Dynex Flat Screen 22" w/DVD

When the picture goes out, try to open and access the TVs menu using the Dynex remote. if the menu fails to open up you can bet there is a problem with the backlight on the TV. Letting the TV rest and then it working again indicates heat as the source of the problem. Check to see if your still in your 1yr warranty or if you have a protection plan at best buy, the TV needs help.

If the Menu were to still open, you can blame your cable/satellite set top box.

Can not change date and time the clock is not highlighed and the date it has is 1/01/2006 5:52 instead of 9/27/2010 11:50 The next question is I can not program the direct tv remote for the imput

Your tv is needs a digital signal to set the time.
So if your just using an xbox or ps3 you will not be able to do it.
If you have your cable / direct tv hooked to it.
You should be able to go to the "Menu" button select it.
Then in the Menu display it should show a "time" box or clock icon.
If the Icon for time does not show up then you do not have the
correct connection.
I'm using the Dynex as a computer monitor, direct connect and I do
not get the icon for time.
Therefore I can not change the display time for the TV.
Hope this helps.

After cussing at the thing for a while to get its attention,
I thought the problem over and fixed it as follows:

I went into the setup menu and selected the "reset default option. The set went to blue screen. The next step was to rescan the channels. Then in the time setup menu I turned off the automatic time update. So far have not had any more problems.

Normal Picture Mode Not Available With Cox HD-DVR (Motorola DCH3416) and HDMI Cable

With an HDMI cable connected, the cable box determines the picture size. The settings on the cable box must be changed in order for you to get the correct picture size. I have some experience with Motorola cable boxes; usually to access the settings you turn the box OFF and then press the menu or settings button on the box to bring up the display menu. Hope this helps!
