Excel Mac 2004: Cursor Problem

Hi I have Excel Mac 2004 on a Mac Book Air. The cursor keys have always allowed me to move cell to cell in all 4 directions. I've done something that now only allows the cursor keys to move the entire spreadsheet up, down or side to side. The only current option for quickly moving through cells is either the tab key which is really limiting or the track pad which is too slow.
I've gone through everything I can think of and haven't been able to find a solution to fix it.
I hope someone can please help me.
Thank you Leah

Such a simple solution - I have had this issue for about 6 months having tried on and off and continually giving up in frustration. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I can't tell you how much easier you have me made my life! I should have tried this route months ago.

    Happy New Year.

Sounds like Scroll Lock is on. Shift-F14 should disable it, unless the default shortcut keys have been changed.

In Excel 2007*, the way to fix this would be to click on the "View" tab, then the "Freeze Panes" icon, which will give you several choices. Click on "Unfreeze Panes." There you go.

* The steps are similar in other versions.

Unless the excel spreadsheet is locked for editing then all you should have to do is Left Click on the cell you want to delete and press Backspace or the DEL key on your keyboard.

To delete multiple cells left click and hold in the middle of the first cell and drag your mouse down or across to highlight multiple cells. Then press the Backspace or DEL key on your keyboard.
