Issues with my Belkin F5D8635-4v1 connecting to xbox; it says the MTU settings are wrong on the router but i have checked and changed but still it will not work...any idea's? - I have checked all TCP / UDP...

MTU settings are set independantly of other network protocols.

Google MTU ~ xbox ~ and your specific use to find an ideal value to set your MTU to which may well differ from documentation you may have about your device/requirement.

I have a small problem with a Belkin N1 wireless router modem, we used to have a 2wire modem (basic telstra one with 1 ethernet prot) and that seemed to be faster than the new Blkin modem, when im running...

Very possible that the 2Wire is slower. I have had a ton of complaints about all kinds of 2Wire devices. As a suggestion though, check their tech support site to see if there may be a firmware or driver update for the modem. I had a Linksys router once that kept kicking me off and was crazy slow when it was up and working. A firmware patch fixed both.

For some reason the router says unknown_4 for my xbox 360 how do i fix that

Where did you see that message? Try to set static IP address on your XBOX. Go to Network Settings > IP Settings of your xbox and set it to Manual IP and type the numbers below

IP Address: 192.68.2.200
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.2.1
DNS: Automatic

Reboot your router and xbox after that.

XBOX Live problems with Belkin N1 router

I suggest setting this up with a WPA encryption rather than WEP encryption. This should get ya setup without a problem. Also, I've noticed live to be a bit buggy since Christmas. If you continue to have troubles after trying this call 800-4my-xbox. The recording will tell you if they are having network issues.

I bet this helps!

Belkin N1 Vision

DHCP Host name is what your looking for.
you need to name each item ie. psp as psp and ps3 as ps3 when you setup each item for connection. so when you setup or edit the settings for your ps3 on your ps3 you need to look for DHCP Host name and name it ps3. etc
do the same for all.
