I recently saw 2 others have this same problem, which concerns me that it might be a default with this brand/product. So, my tv started with the menu popping up, and the funtion keys on the front are not operable. The menu goes through itself, like it is possessed, and then this pops up.."Toshiba Home Entertainment" and something else. I can elimate the spilling of anything, that didnt happen. And even my direct-tv remote will not program it. It will now not even let you watch tv. Please help!!! I can't afford a new one. It was manufactured in 2004.
Check the menu button on front panel(if available)
if theres a sign of stock up.compare it to other button ch up ch down etc.this may cause the menu to pop up and disable all button even the remote control.
but in rare case, the system control chip may be malfunctioning.hope this help u...

this gave me a headache too. It's funny yet simple.they have tv mode channels locked by default. Should tell you in the manual. But just hold down Sat/cbldtc button. At same time hold the channel down button until light comes back on. Then press the enter button. Now it's unblocked. Don't forget to press tv button again to work buttons.

I have a roku and a WD live and have not see this issue. How are you connecting the roku to the TV? What is the brand of TV. Can you reset the TV back to factory default via the TV's onscreen menu?
Also, how are you connecting the "other input sources" to the TV?
IT LOOKS LIKE WE ALL MAY ASWELL STEER CLEAR OF SAMSUNG AS THEY ARE **** BRANDS YOU NEVER HEAR OF THEIR BETTER BRANDS SONY GOING WRONG AS THEY WOULD BE IN IT UP TO THE NECKS WITH INSURANCE CLAIMS ASWITH PANASONIC , SAMSUNG ARE YOUR CHEAP WASHING MACHINE THAT ISNT WORTH A REPAIR ,IT ENDS IN RECYCLING THATS WHY THEIR ARE LOADS OF MODELS OF THEM, THEY ARE NOT WORTH 300-500 QUID YOU MAY AS WELL PAY MORE AND INSURE IT FOR A FIVE YEAR WASHING MACHINE GUARANTEE BECAUSE IF A LCD OR PLASMA DOESNT LAST FIVE YEARS ITS TIME GET OUT AND ABOUT MORE INSTEAD OF SITTING ON OUR ARSES, LIFE EXPECTANCY YOUR AVERAGE WASHING MACHINE ,FRIDGE,COOKER, HOOVER,CAR ETC IS 5YEARS SO WHY DOES THE MODERN TVS DONT LIVE AS LONG REASON PROFITS. GAZ SORRY FOR THE BOREDOM.
The tv name brand Luxor are a subdairy from another company, sorry i can't remember it parent Corporation. But this tv brand are in very small and limited in production and sale as electronics products.U will never find any universal codes for a universal remote for this tv.If this a recent bought universal tv remote, return it,if not used it for other tvs with will kown tv brand name.Try website like Remotes.com to buy the tv original remote, this website have 80-90% closed out and fail to launch electronics products, they sell all it remotes controls products left over.
Try resetting the TV (look for through the Menu options for a Setup or Tools section and an item like Restore Default or Memory Recall). Then exit the Menu and return to the Menu and do a new channel scan.
Other resets can be done by unplugging the TV for a minute.
I hope this helps.
Cindy Wells (I had a recent issue with one channel having no audio and another no video and resetting the TV's memory to the defaults and then rescanning worked.)
Hello, I have had my TV for 3-4 years and have dealt with this stupid guide popping up for the last 2 when I got curious to see if it was something I wanted to use. FINALLY I came across a solution - so far so good but tomorrow it could be back? I did not have the option field some suggested to use. So saw another suggestion for something else and so far so good. When going into the setup guide. Select the USA, place all 0's in the zip code area and NO for everything else.... no VCR no cable, etc.
Hope this helps..
I also was able to do this without the remote - IF you can get the menu to pop up you just have to use the numbers to select what you need. Found the remote and saw nothing different as far as menu options. Good luck.
You some how got into the service menu, and your going to need to call an authorized servicer for this brand, and they are going to have to tell you how to put the TV back to factory defaults, If thats not possible, the sets going to have to be re adjusted and go through every alighnment to see what you changed. If that ever happens again, cancel out of that menu, as its for the trained tech to change things, as theres a process that has to be followed.
