Question about Toshiba 32A43 32" TV

Menu popping up

I recently saw 2 others have this same problem, which concerns me that it might be a default with this brand/product. So, my tv started with the menu popping up, and the funtion keys on the front are not operable. The menu goes through itself, like it is possessed, and then this pops up.."Toshiba Home Entertainment" and something else. I can elimate the spilling of anything, that didnt happen. And even my direct-tv remote will not program it. It will now not even let you watch tv. Please help!!! I can't afford a new one. It was manufactured in 2004.

Jvc tv tuning without remote

If your TV has no 'Menu' button on its front panel controls, it will be difficult to make an auto-tune to it. Anyway, try to enter its 'Menu' option, using the remote control you have. If can, you will win. Otherwise, buy an other universal remote control, which will help you to enter the TVs' Menu option. The one more thing you have to try is, to set an other code to your TV with this remote control. If it too do not help you, think of buying an other remote control.
If you wish to buy a genuine remote control, you have to contact the authorized service center. If you wish to buy a universal remote control, you should know about, which brand remote control have set-up codes to your TV brand, and buy that one according to availability. The first thing you have to do is, to confirm the number of digits in the setup codes to your TV brand. There are 4 digit, 5 digit, 3 digit and even 2 digit codes. You can make it sure by entering '0s' at the code enter window the TV dispays, and asks codes. Enter 'Zeros', and count how many zeros can be enterd. That number will be the number of digit of setup code, the TV/Device need. If you can enter 5 zeros, the number of digit in the set-up code to your TV is a '5' digit one, if only 2 zeros can be enterd, the number of digits in the set-up code to your TV should be a 2 digit one, and so on.. If you wish to get more details about this, try the sites linked here. & Both the sites have setup code list, and setup procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check the site in 'Mosaic' view. It will make search easy.
It will be preferable to buy its genuine remote control by any way.

Loud pop from surge protector that results in intermittent sound on Samsung 46" tv

I hope the surge protector is separate from your TV. It has Varistors in it that are supposed to pass overvoltage surges (it can happen without the power going out) then recover to normal. But sometimes they overheat, then they can become a fire hazard. Or the contacts in the sockets can get charred and flakey. Anyway sounds like it is fried, the only easy solution is replace it. A careful tinkerer with a good scrounge box could fix it, if you know anybody like that.

Vchip block just popped up on screen and we dont have the passcode to fix it;is there a factory reset?

To get into the fatory setup, there is a metod for Samsung TVs. You just follo these steps, and will reach there. OK

[1] Turn the Power Off.
[2] On the remote control press "MENU" followed by 1,8,2 and "Power" in sequence.
[3] You should no see the service menu. To exit the service menu always select "RESET".

The service menu will guide you to the factory defaults. Note that upon entering the service menu, all user menu settings will revert to Factory Defaults.

If you do not have its remote control, the you will probably have to contact Samsung Electronics division in your country.

I have a Samsung 50 inch DLP - I heard a pop and the picture immediately disappeared. The 3 lights were flashing on the front which according to the book said it needed a new lamp installed. I ordered it,...

Sounds like the color wheel may have also gone bad. I recently saw a 56" Samsung where the bulb and color wheel went at the same time. The color wheel could produce a crying noise while trying to spin up.

Hello, I have had my TV for 3-4 years and have dealt with this stupid guide popping up for the last 2 when I got curious to see if it was something I wanted to use. FINALLY I came across a solution - so far so good but tomorrow it could be back? I did not have the option field some suggested to use. So saw another suggestion for something else and so far so good. When going into the setup guide. Select the USA, place all 0's in the zip code area and NO for everything else.... no VCR no cable, etc.
Hope this helps..
I also was able to do this without the remote - IF you can get the menu to pop up you just have to use the numbers to select what you need. Found the remote and saw nothing different as far as menu options. Good luck.

Sony Bravia XBR-2 32-inch LCD with popping noise problem

Has anyone heard of something like this where the cable box/service is causing popping sounds? yes & it is common problem. And is this something I should be concerned about causing damage to the TV's speakers? not at all. The Sony tech-support representative (over the phone) diagnosed it further to a problem not with the TV but with the cable box/service because there were no popping sounds when I played a DVD on my Playstation 2 that is attached to the TV. they are right that your problem is not due to tv. it is due to cable box/service? yes but not defective it reqires to change the way you have connected tv to cable.please call tech to get it connected in such a way so that you do not get popping sound when you you put off cable box.

Menu won't stop popping up!

The first thing I would check is if any of the buttons on the tv has been push in too far including the menu button,if any of this buttons is making contact it will confuse the microcomputer and the rest of button become inoperable.Another possibility is corrosion in the buttons beacuse soemething has spill into them like pop or water.Check it out and let us know.Be careful, make sure set is not plug in.

You some how got into the service menu, and your going to need to call an authorized servicer for this brand, and they are going to have to tell you how to put the TV back to factory defaults, If thats not possible, the sets going to have to be re adjusted and go through every alighnment to see what you changed. If that ever happens again, cancel out of that menu, as its for the trained tech to change things, as theres a process that has to be followed.
