At first the screen was turning red, I had the Ic's replace and had a guy try and align the tv I had a NEW red crt put in, but now the picture is 3d while the hdmi is playing the blue ray and when the component input from cable is trying to put out the HD signal. Why would the screen turn 3d and become out of alignemnt ONLY when the HDMI is putting through the blue ray signal, also the red is not toally togethrr on some of the boxes. thanks

- what are stk chips for converge?? where are they? do I have it done or sodered? why would tv be fine in one input but the Hdmi signal looks like a 3 d movie>
when the guy replaced the tube he should have as part of the job realigned the convergence. doubt you needed a tube as these sets can have a small problem with the focus block that will make the color be to much as in all red or the focus might be blurry either way a small adjustment to this focus block would settle it down, now you have another problem, your converge isn't working or the power suplly for the converge isn't working.
it's likely the stk chips for converge replace all 3
then alignment could be done if needed. you shouldn't have to do this if nothing was moved from it original position.

- are you saying that the set looks good for alignment on all but the hdmi input?
if so the signal is not correct from the source possible 1080p?
this unit is likely only 1080i change the settings on that dvd and the set should be fine.
You have a convergence problem. Here are some of the most common symptoms.
Screen looks 3D One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu. Screen is bowed in but stationary.
Here is a quick test....
Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.
Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.
You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.
If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors.
Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kit for your exact model. The kit includes a photo instruction guide, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, etc. Everything you need to fix it yourself.

we've had this tv for awhile now and it's been fixed before and now
it's broken again. i don't know if it's the same problem but the last
time repairmen fixed it, they had to take it to their shop. i hope i
put the right model #, i'm not sure how big it is, i think it's about
40-50 in. (Sony KP-65WS510 65 in. Rear Projection HDTV Television);
it wasn't accepting that in the box below. the only other thing i could
get was that it was manufactured Nov. 2003, not sure if that helps. is
there something i could do personally to replace something or does it
really have to be done by professionals?
