Memory upgrade on acer aspire 7551

the hard drive has the storage capacity to remember files and folders and os systems
if you want a bigger hard drive because you want to store more files get a new bigger sshd hard drive
the ram memory which is where the cpu stores data as it is processing commands can be expanded by adding to max ram available for that computer
there may even be 2 slots so an extra card can be added
the ram memory is what is needed if you do gaming on the laptop
best if you talk with a computer repair shop
remember that a new better laptop is just your laptop with all new internals so up grading is normally around 2/3 the price of a new one

Hi can you upgrade a acer aspire one with a bigger hard drive

Glad to HELP YOU!

When you will go search for a new BIGGER HARD DRIVE for your machine check to have THE SAME PARAMETERS as the previous one:
* to be a SLIM HDD
* to be a SATA HDD

Once you got it you have to open your machine (the back cover) and to replace the hard drive. To replace the hard drive means to UNPLUG two connectors from the old HDD and to replug them (the same position) into the new one.

And you will be good to go!
GOOD LUCK!

Am getting error code 8002f147 can you help

  • take out the hard drive
  • connect hard drive to pc (running windows 7 64bit, but any windows os should work without other software)
  • open up disk management - in win7 it asked me to make a master book record, so I did.
  • format in NTSF - that's right, NTSF - don't use quick format
  • get the rom of whatever version you were on before you upgraded - i had to search, but i found the us 3.30 rom
  • copy that rom to usb drive in folders PS3 ==> UPDATE ==> put rom named PS3UPDAT.PUP here
  • shut down pc, take out hd, take usb drive too
  • put hd back in ps3, put usb stick in ps3
  • boot ps3
  • a screen will pop up. press select + start
  • another screen (i think) later, press select + start
  • configure your ps3 setup - done

well you need to have your operating system installed... if you are operating the new drive with the old drive then check your bios setting for the hard drive order...

HOW TO CHOOSE THE LAPTOP BEFORE BUY.

You have to know how you want to use the laptop.
Ask yourself:
Is it a desktop replacement or is it to be the primary PC?
Are you going to need storage space?
Will you be working with spreadsheets or gaming?
Will you be editing photos, videos or Music?
How much money do you want to spend?
The more you do with it the more power you will need (translation = faster processor).
The more you install or store the bigger storage space you will need (translation = Hard drive).
This can all add up to a very expensive purchase.
My formula…(Need / Want) - $$$ = Your new Laptop
Processor cannot easily be upgraded so spend you money there…You can always upgrade the memory and get and external USB hard drive later.

I WANT TO REPLACE MY 40G HARD DRIVE ON MAC G4

You have mentioned that you are looking at replacing the hard drive with a SATA one. Since the G4 iMacs use PATA hard drives (an older standard) you will have to make sure that the drive you use is a PATA.

Aside from that, you should be able to upgrade to a reasonably large hard drive up to 500GB and then format the drive for a mac.

The only real trouble you will have in my opinion will be the installation as the process for taking apart a G4 iMac is very advanced. There are a few guides on how to do this, just make sure that your skill level is advanced enough to attempt the upgrade. Also, of course, make sure you have backed up all of your data and everything before you start... that can mean a world of difference to you later on if anything goes wrong.

I would personally take a trip to the Apple store and talk to a genius about this sort of upgrade, or look at other upgrade options such as a bigger external hard drive because there are many complications in this upgrade and those two options are easier.

If you are interested in attempting the upgrade yourself you can look at this explanation of the process, it is quite thorough and has pictures showing internals and the process. http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/systems/imac_g4/imacg4_takeapart.html

If at the end of that you want to go ahead and open your box up by all means do and I will be here to offer as much support as I can.

Regards,
Jack
