Mine froze after downloading firmware upgrade, it said it would remove automatically after clicking finish but didnt. I just clicked remove hardware on windows toolbar, unplugged it and then the player did its internal thing after i'd disconnected it and was fine.

a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

on the side of the mp3 player above the lock switch is a very small reset button. it can be pressed using a paper clip, a safety pin, the post of an earring, mechanical pencil led, or something else of similar width and length. press and hold this button until the screen goes blank. it may turn back on itself, or you may need to manually turn it on. it should be fine now.
