Question about All-Pro Kerosene Garage Shop Heaters - All Pro PK115T Forced Air Kerosene Space Heater

1 Answer

Ready heater pro 155 runs fine untill you shut it off fan spinns then locks up when you plug it in it blows the breaker . try to spin the fan with your hand and its stiff but it spins . spin it a few times and its free again. it will now work again till you shut it off. pulled the pump apart and cleaned it . the pump is loaded with black residue on all sides heater works fine for a while then started doing same thing pulled it back apert and same thing. every time i pull it apart my pressure changes i have to re set it 5.1 psi . the electric motor spins fine the problem seems to be in the pump. i clean it up and no problems show that i can see all veins are clean all surfaces are clean and smooth. is the motor to weak to spin the pump when it gums up? could i lube the pump?

Don't lube the pump. It's a carbon vane pump, lubrication will cause problems. Are the vanes wearing down? Did you set the rotor clearance on the top at .005"?

I have a ready heater pro 155 BTU and the sitting

I certainly can. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4124129-yearly_maintenance_reddy_heaters which explains what your problem is and where to get the parts and gauges to fix it. I recommend getting the better gauge if you are going to keep your heater. Let me know if you need more help.

Reddi heater 155 owners manual?

If this has a hot surface igniter, can you see it glowing? If not the igniter could be bad or the control
board for the igniter is baed.

If you are able, remover the igniter and hook it up to a 110 outlet, if it glows the problem is in the board.

If it has a board, follow the incoming power to line 1
and line 2. You will either have to splice the two leads
from the igniter into L1 and L2 or get a special spade
connector that can hold two leads on each terminal.

Plug unit in, glow coil should glow and unit should run
thats assuming you have that style of unit. Do not
attempt to do this unless you can safely perform this.

If you know of an electrician he can do this.

Reddy pro155 runs for 3 to 5 seconds

Reply with the correct model number. "Pro 155" designates a series. We need to know whether you have a heater with a spark plug or a heater with an ignitor (glowbar).

I have a Reddy heater pro 155.

Check all of your air filters but most likely it's the CAD flame sensor.

Pro 155 kerosi ne heater

Check your fuel and air lines for leaks, typically it's the CAD flame sensor but if you have already replaced it try checking the high heat limit switch. It looks like a thick watch battery just behind the combustion chamber, take it off and hold a lighter under it. If it's working properly you should hear a faint click when it shuts off, no click then it's bad.

Master 110 torpedo heater will not start , kerosene type

Odds are, your air pump is locked up. Remove the cover on the back of the fan motor, remove the pump cover and carefully remove the air pump rotor and blades. If the motor spins freely and will start when plugged in, the pump housing plates probably have a bit of corrosion on them. Lightly clean the pump housing end plates with fine grit sandpaper, wipe clean and re-assemble. Should fix the problem. Does the breaker trip when this happens?

I have a Reddy heater Pro 155 that will not start up

You can refer to this manual: http://www.bealsmotor.com/Desa%20Hot%20Surface%20Manual.pdf
They have a detailed troubleshooting guide. You will need a multimeter and some electronic experience for some of the tests. I hope this helps!

Reddy Heater will not ignite flame

Please answer the following questions. There are several folks on the board that can help but we need to know some vital information so we can get started. Answer these, if you can:
  1. Which Pro 110 do you have. We need the exact model number. Pro 110 is a series of heaters.
  2. Does the heater have a spark plug or a glowbar (HSI)?
  3. When the motor runs is it pumping fuel?
  4. When the motor runs is the spark plug firing (or glowbar glowing)?
