Also, run thru the vert section with a soldering iron. Component freezing spray is a good troubleshooting too. Freezing the parts and checking the vert narrows your problem downto the individual component.

It can be a couple things. Something bad on the power board. Or the vertical output circuit. How long ago did you purchase the television. Your best course of action is to have it serviced.
If you need any information or other assistance let me know.
Thanks,

RCA TV picture bigger than screen

if the tv width is ok try entering to service menu (do not use remote control) as follow:
1) turn the set on.
2) press the menu button and hold it down while pressing the power button.
3) while holding down the menu button release the power button and press
the volume + button.
4) The screen will display a one line menu, on the left the parameter P00,
and on the right the value of the parameter V00
5) release buttons.
6) using the volume + button change the right parameter until 76
7) using the channel down button change the left parameter until 06 (vertical size)
8) whith the volume + or volume - adjust the screen size.
9) when your tv is OK back to parameter 00 using the channel up button.
10) press menu button.
and trouble solved.

Extremely long warm up time 25 minutes. ok once it comes on.

Just a shot in the dark- I think your main projection lamp is going bad- If the set is more than a year or 2 old it can happen. Unfortunately they are a little expensive.
How is the brightness level after it warms up??

All of a sudden this TV has a problem of loosing voltage to the CRT and the screen suddenly goes black. After about 10 minutes the picture comes back. If you leave the set on for quite a while it seems...

You will have to tip the chassis up side down and look over most of the chassis close to the High Voltage Transformer (IFT) look for cold joints around there first, then locate the Vertical IC and look very closely at those pins, they usually have hair line stress ring cracks around them. If youv'e never done this type of work before I would take it in to a service co. It's not a major repair.

Wavy picture for Toshiba Model 50H12 Rear projection TV

In general, these problems are usually caused by leaky output filter capacitors in either the low voltage power supply or, depending upon the type of waviness you're attempting to describe, it could be in the vertical deflection circuits (either the vertical oscillator or vertical amplifier). I would estimate cost to repair from $200 to $350 dollars, depending on how long it takes to find the problem. It most likely though is a component issue in the circuitry.
