Question about Philips HTS3450 System

1 Answer

Installing help I am having trouble installing my HTS3450 philips home theatre system. We had it set up okay at our former address, although sometimes the sound would cut out. Now we can't remember how to install it, and can't find the instructions. We get sound only when the philips home theatre system is set to "TV" but then all the sound comes through one speaker. We used to get sound when it was set to "aux" but now there is silence. What have we hooked up wrong? Thanks! I thought there would be some info on the web on installing help, but nothing pops up in a search.

I have the home theater system model HTS3440/37. I've had this for a couple of years, and now all of a sudden, it won't read any discs. It comes up after a couple of seconds and says "No Disc"....

Well, let's see.

A) A whole used HTS3440 is available on eBay for $102 delivered.

B) A compatible HTS3450 base unit goes for $79 delivered...

C) Connect a new or existing outboard DVD/BluRay player to it.

Proprietary connectors usually imply proprietary function. Home Theater in a Box runs that way and are typically Not Economically Repairable.

Though it may be possible to construct cabling that adapts 'normal' standardized audio to your HTIB speakers, is it really worth it?

I'd got with option C as it would be a better investment in equipment with longevity and forward compatibility.

I have got Philips Home Theatre 5.1 (DSP 25000) , but it is not giving expected sound. Right Rear speaker and Left Fornt Speaker are not giving any sound . Please let me know the solution. I have connected...

Firstly make sure you have connected the speakers to the main system in an proper order. Certain system's have the name of the speaker's mentioned at every output line which is at the rear of the system. If you would connect the wrong wires then it eventually would not play the sound. once this is done make sure that the wires of each speakers are split into two at both the ends. They are normally coded in red and black colours at the tip of the wire. Check if the red of the wire is connected to the red of the system and so on for all the speakers. So try removing all your connections and do it all over in a proper way.

Hi I have a Philips HTS3450 system but lost the Subwoofer, Is there a way that I can connect the Subwoofer connection to my Panasonic Home theator system to get the sound? Thanks in advance

I'm not sure what you mean by "connecting the Subwoofer connection to my Panasonic Home Theater System"

If you want to watch something on the Philips and send the audio to your Panasonic Home Theater you can buy a VGA to AV Adapter Cable. Just connect it to the back of the Philips HTS3450, get an AV cable (red, white, yellow) and run it to the Panasonic.

I recommend buying it here: http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=212966742

yes.modern TVs have good speakers, and the bravia has a good set, with adjustable sound fields, plus a decent amp in them.just use good cables, and use component video cables,or HDMI if yr DVD has it.most have 1080 video resolution nowadays

Problem with sound - Philips HTS3455 Home Theatre System

Hi, I am sorry to say that there is probably a fault. First check the fuses if able (a possibilty). If not that then will need to go in for repair.

Hope that helps

Philips Home Theatre System - no sound or power light on sub woof

reset the device to factory settings, it is written in your manual how to do this. If that doesnot work, unplug the powersocket for about 30minutes, it will cause an internal reset which might solve it.

I bought philips 5.1 home theatre for PC it is not supporting

As I found somewhere on the internet; there are two 470uF/25V capacitors on the power supply board in the sub-woofer that are the cause of buzzing, crackling and then eventually no sound. Go to Radio Shack and buy two Catalog #: 272-1030 470uF/35V capacitors and change them out. They are in the middle of the Power Supply PCB and are close to the long flat aluminum heatsink. Make sure you match the polarity properly when replacing. Your unit will be as good as new and will proibably last forever now.
